Scholars of the library at Claw Ridge in Cara Fahd are busy chronicling the post-Scourge history of orks in Barsaive. One point on which they all agree is that the loss of Rokk Krinn was a blow to the newly reformed nation. Most people know Krinn as an early leader and recruiter for the cause of Krathis Gron. His time with the Bearers of Akasha paint an interesting picture. Obsessed with his own legend, Rokk Krinn seemed determined to make himself destined for great things rather than just be destined for great things as some legends are. This pamphlet, distributed during his time with the Bearers, is what led Kolovon Ligasmu and Borrum Binbalik to the group. The missive is an excellent look into the personality of the man who made himself into a legend and martyr for the ork cause.

Covered Herin:The rescue and salvation of the town of Forriam The slaying of the horror, known as Mist A date with a spectral dancer, and the end of a long journey for an entire kaer! A trip to the Blood Wood! |
If I met someone at a tavern, and
he told me all that you are about to hear, I would've called him a liar to his face, and
sent half my drink into his lap if he protested. However, I can attest to the truth
of this entire tale! I was there! If that's not enough proof for you,
then follow the tale, and retrace my steps, and the path of the Heroes of Brynn.
Each place bears our mark, usually carved into a structure, with a bit of history.
We made sure to honor the dead, and remember the towns that were destroyed before we got
there. We also told the neighboring towns about the desruction that we were able to
avert for them. All you need to do is ask! Been to Forriam yet? You haven't (Obviously you haven't, else you'd know this story already!) Well, I suggest going, as the tale I'll tell is best read on the walls of this once fine town. One of my greatest feats of written history lies on those walls, and I tend to doubt that I could top that feat now. Anyway... Had you been living in Forriam in the weeks before the heroes got there, you would have been living through hell. The horror Ristul, and the cultists who followed him, were systematically killing everyone in the town, and bringing them as offerings to the horror. One can only imagine what undeath at the horror's hands must have been like. When we got there, only a handful of townsfolk had be so sacrificed. Sadly, all the townspeople were already dead. Happily, the heroes had arrived! The heroes of Brynn, led by myself and Gort the Obsidman chased off or killed all the remaining Ristular, and erected a funeral pyre for the remaining villagers. One could almost sense the releif that their final death brought them. And that was only our first encounter with a horror! There would be many more to come, but none as interesting as the battle with Mist. But, this battle is so legendary, we're not even going to retell it! Look it up in the Library of Throal, if you must. If you don't know it by now, chances are, you will never ever know it! Rest assured there will be others, and before long, the exploits of Rokk Krinn, hero of Barsaive, and the rest of the heroes of Brynn will be well-told tales. So, if times get troubled around you, have no fear. We may be just around the corner!

Having no fear of the living is
easy. It's having no fear of the dead that can be hard. Bravely standing up
with the Undead to save the souls of hundreds takes either great stupidity, or tremendous
courage. Rokk has more of the latter than many Namegivers have pretended to have.
Mix that in with a healthy dose of self-sacrifice, and the motivation for one of
his most heroic actions becomes plain. Trying to picture this in your head? Well fear not, you know Rokk comes out of it okay (although some of the others may not be so lucky!) So, here's the scene. The heroes of Brynn enter a kaer that they know is in turmoil. The inhabitants are dead, but none of them have acheived a final resting place. We think it may be a horror, but it may be something else, as well. Rokk is on the case. Most of the heroes are outside, battling with the products of the evil still living in the kaer. Garnel and I are within, at the top of a tower. Without warning, we are accosted by a spectral dancer. As Garnel crept away in terror, I stepped up to dance with the awful thing. The evil eminating from it nearly knocked me unconscious, but I made it through. When the dance was over, the specral dancer had had enough, and disappeared. The tower began to crumble a little, and was giving birth to a huge marble staircase. From my vantage point, I could actually see the souls of the kaer-dwellers ascending the staircase, to their final rest. Rokk, and the heroes of Brynn, had set the whole kaer free! Our last story is a little sad, gentle reader. During our trip to the Blood Wood, we lost a dear member of the team, Chamberlain. Struck down by Thorn Men as we entered. We were ambushed, I'm afraid to say, he never saw it coming. Our exploits there were legendary, and culminated in a meeting with Queen Alachia. At the end, she gave us a trinket to allow us to enter the Wood again, unchallenged. Maybe we'll get to use it someday, but for now, we mourn the loss of our friend and brother. I'm sure you agree. |
Surely you, dear reader, have heard of the legendary Rokk Krinn. The question is, why hasn't he heard from you? Rokk personally encourages each and every one of you who reads his tale to seek him out, be it at home, or on the trail. He promises to welcome you as a worthy ally (or enemy, as the case permits) and tell you his story in person! If you catch him at the right time, you may get to meet the other heroes of the tale, Gort, the Obsidman, or Garnel, the Windling of Legend. Perhaps Midnight Blue, the scary Nethermancer, or Akasha, the crunchy elfmaiden. Chamberlain, the master of illusions, or any of the other cast of hundreds that have taken part in our hero's life. Add your name to the legend! |
