Read Hair in Ancient Egypt

An image of Seti I, Ramesses II's father, with a au revers wig of red hair. This scene, which is part of a larger scene of Seti I offering to Amun-Ra is between the Corridor of Kings and the Hall of Barques, almost facing the western passage to the Osirieon, Abydos.

Seti at Abydos


The picture of a coiffure of a Hyksos official, found at Avaris, and dated to the late 12th Dynasty. The excavator (Manfred Bietak) described the hair as "painted red".
