The Mysterious Orange Queen

First of all, who is she? It would seem that, even though I first thought she was an immortal Elf, she would actually be a dragon or even a great dragon. Yup, another wiz-worm. In Dunky's Secret, Orange Queen says: "I've lurked here for years, watching only one speak for us.", obviously about Dunky. Then Loremaster, yet another wizworm, says "Orange Queen? That can only be one of us... You should be fighting with your brothers and sisters." which, according to Doug Yout, refers to the fact that dragons fight among themselves to get treasures or dead dragons. I have a different theory (this is conspiracy theories, I just can't allow people to come up with easy answers here!): "You should be fighting with your brothers ans sisters" sounds more like it means to help her brothers and sisters fight than fighting them. If it was about fighting them, he would have said "You should be fighting your brothers and sisters", removing the word "with". Of course, this is unclear, but if true, it would mean that dragons are fighting something all together, which means something big. I can only see one thing they could be fighting: the coming of the Horrors (see old Conspiracy Theories about that). That means that most dragons are concerned about the Horrors, and not just Dunky.

Getting back to Orange Queen: what is she doing? It seems clear that she lives in Tir Na Nog, formerly Ireland, and that she is some kind of leader. Why a leader? Because of the "Queen" title and because Harlequin talks to her (Harlequin speaks to important people...). A leader of what is the question right now. Checking back her name, we can wonder why is she an Orange queen. I definitely don't believe this has anything to do with the fruit of the same name, but there is something else, linked with Ireland, that uses the word 'Orange': The Orange Order (the main Northern Irish protestant militia faction, kinda similar with IRA.)(thanks to Christian to point that out to me). So the name 'Orange Queen' would mean she is the leader of protestants in northern Tir Na Nog or somehing similar. Can anybody with the Tir Na Nog sourcebook confirm or deny that possibility?

Now where does that lead us? Not very far I guess... It confirms the great danger of the coming of the Horrors, since many dragons are concerned about them. Beside that, we learn a little more about Orange Queen.

Leonardo's departure

First of all, it seems that Leonardo is actually Leonardo da Vinci, and is an immortal elf. His look hasn't changed much since the time when he drew a now famous self-portrait. He used this long time to make some powerful allies and ennemies: dragons (it's a dragon-themed Conspiracy Theories this week it seems...). More precisely, he made an alliance with the Californian great dragon Hestaby, got his hide-out destroyed by a dragon (which is refered as "sirrurg", which could be the name of the dragon or the word those people near Baghdad call dragons) and is searched by people sent by Lofwyr. All of this is linked with his "Great Work", about which I'll talk in a minute.

In 2059, Leonardo disappears the night before the sirrurg comes and destroy his observatory near Baghdad, in the little town called Ahvaz. This disappearance causes quite some trouble to Renraku, which relied on him to develop new hardware and software. In fact, Renraku's data that came from Leonardo's researchs were erased by a mysterious virus and the megacorp's database show weird, gapping holes.

The only person able to enter Renraku's high security systems and put a virus in without getting killed in the process is Leonardo, which shows that he's behind the weird bugs in the Renraku databases. Since he did, it shows that he escaped from the attacke of the sirrurg on his African hide-out, which means he most probably knew it was coming. If he knew about it but didn't want it to happen, there is no reason why he would have disappeared completely AND deleted everything he worked on in Renraku. As such, it seems that he wanted it to happen, that the destruction of his hide-out by a dragon was just to cover his tracks. Since he seems to have strong relations with dragons, it is very possible that he would have asked the sirrurg to destroy his hide-out so people believe he's dead.

Therefor, I believe he disappeared by his own will, so he could continue his Great Work by himself. But what IS his Great Work? In my opinion, this would be linked with the recent rise of the Otakus: Leonardo would have 'created' the otakus to use them as his agents for his Great Work. What actually is it? I don't have any idea right now (if I get any, be sure that I will make another Conspiracy Theories to tell them!), but it reached a turning point recently which made him go away from Renraku.

In december 2059, mere months after Leonardo's disappearance, Renraku's archology in Seattle shuts down, trapping 100,000 persons inside it. To achieve such a feat, a very strong technological knowledge must be involved, and who's the greatest inventor/decker on the planet? You guessed it: Leonardo (don't bring in that FastJack boy: I never heard he was able to break in any of the highest security systems of the megas to shut them down without triggering a single alarm or being noticed by a decker). With an army of Otakus on his side, shutting down the archology is possible. The reason for doing this is still mysterious for me  though.

It seems the ideas of Leonardo's departure, his Great Work, the virus, the Otakus and the Archology shut down all converge on one point. There just seems to be missing some puzzle pieces to be able to view the big picture...
