The D2 is Warp's newest 3D game for the Sega Katana.
D2 will basically be developed all by a real-time polygon technic. There is a concept of time added, for example, go inside when a door is being closed, to let a object turn hard and get a bright, and you have to achieve something before dark, and etc. It is not the same gadget as the previous style, based on movie. This is the point to see, too, and all full real-time CG is rare. There is a beautiful CG animation, same as the previous, and Warp produces a movement and a small action by real-time, an important story part, a main character's emotion and other interesting parts by a beautiful movie, using MPEG1. As Warp could have directed their own color last time, Warp will try to incorporate a content of a general game action. It can be said it sounds like either a polygonal action game or confronted game. The point of the system is to improve your technic by confronting each other. I do think a confronted game made by 3D polygon is very good, but its game style would not suit 'D2', so Warp is planning to make it easier. Warp has been planning an action for beginners again, as many non-experienced people could play with the previous one.
Story
As you can remember the end of Laura, the story is taken turn to one year later. The opening situation is in Transylvania in the middle century. A castle owner, who is the D person, has a distress of not having a child for a long time. He believed if he killed lots of people and offer the god them transfixed, he could have a soul, and he had waited. Unfortunately, as his wife died, his effort came to nothing and he became crazy, so he gave his life to an evil, involved a witchcraft. He said to an evil he wanted a child instead of his soul, and a mischievous evil promised to get a soul from somewhere for him. The tragedy was started.
The scene is changed, and Laura is flying by aircraft near San Francisco in 1998. The lightning accidentally hit the aircraft and a mysterious thing came into the aircraft and stole a child from Laura's womb. After that the aircraft was crashed and Laura was dead. At the same time, a new baby was born in Transylvania in the middle century. All mystery is connected and the irony doom is being started. The game starts from this point.D2 will going sale on 2 cd's.
