Comments on small and big:
10/3-98: Thanks to Pablo Fridlender it is now possible to update SWOS to the current status with transfers, relegation, promotion and so on, but what is the quality of these updates ? - Some are exact and good, but a lot, especially the ones from smaller footballing nations such as Belarus, have problems finding the right scale. The player facts are exact, but the teams are dramatically overrated and the players are too expensive. This is a shame because the updates would be great without that. In contrast to some updates where only the authors favourite team is edited (and improved) these are a lot better. It is a problem that we are not yet fully covered with people that update the country that they live in, but currently it is people outside that can't have the same relationship to the league (who is playing, youngsters breaking through, smaller transfers and so). I'm updating some countries too that I can't know all about, but until some one else takes over I consider it being better than nothing (I use club squads found on the internet). The problem we can do something about is the upgoing club points for each team. Also bigger leagues like the Spanish have a problem there, because some few teams are great, the rest have so large number of points that one might be better that a top team from a smaller league (e.g. AEK Athens, Brondby, Grasshoppers). Therefore I suggest that there should be made some sort of rating system, so it will be easier for the users to see whether thier update is good or not so good (approved/not approved). This license could be given by the SWOSnet, and in order to get it, you should live up to the demands put from them. E.g. there a list of what the maximum club rate should be in the different countries (sorted by good team, middle team, bad team to prevent middle team in bigger leagues to get too big too) could be made. This list could be made with inspiration from the international football statistics club ranking list. Personally I think that no team should get more than 1000 points or else you wouldn't be able to see the difference on Ronaldo and a defender of Inter. Also smaller countries league star players shouldn't be worse than a never used substitute in a big league team. My opinion is that Pablo Fridlender site should be THE place to get updates to centralize it all. What's the point in having a SWOS homepage where you have an updated team site with almost everything taken from Pablo's site anyway? - After all he deserves the credit since he made the editor ! Therefore I'm willing to give up my update section if people will agree to this.
