This is the deck I played at the 1998 OverPower Nationals where I won
Second. On Saturday I included Flash's Tapping the Speed Force. The
only change I would make is to remove the "Hideout Discovered"
event and include the X-Babies Lil Iceman.

There are only 13 power cards and 4 teamworks. With attack moving cards
the winning decks have changed to specials
because instead of heroes being awake only 56% of the time they are
awake 100% of the time. If they are KOed, you have
lost the battle. As a consequence, most of the reserve heroes had nothing
that they couldn't play from reserver.
The event "New Lease on Life" doesn't usually make your opponent's activators
unusable, but it does make them have
activotors where they have used all their best specials. Many of my
opponents kept looking under their battle site with the
expression "Is that all there is left?" In addition, the reshuffle
event helps make certain that you won't enter the power pack.
Entering the power pack with only 13 power cards is a little dangerous.
The strategy against Other Marauder and X-Babies decks is to negate
their Vertigo and still have a negate left to defend your
own. If you have two negates and a vertigo bet 4 as they will either
have to conceed or lose the Marauders.
The strategy against FF Plaza decks is to start by attacking the battlesite
if you get an Arc Light. This will make your opponent
start using the best defense from their battlesite (avoid, negate).
Your opponent will most likely conceed to save their battlesite. If
you get discard one place card use it to make your opponent discard
his defense. Make them discard the avoid that you have
seen two of, as most players have two of each avoid. Leave the other
to possibly duplicate later. Making them discard their
avoids is better than high hits which you can just shuffle around to
whoever you want. Many battles they will be winning, but
have to conceed or lose a character.
Don't fight the battle unless you have a Vertigo. You have six Vertigos,
you need to get one to fight. If you have one, don't
shun from fighting if there is any chance one of your hits will land.
Try to avoid letting them defend with power cards. Try to make all their
power cards end up as hits on the X-Babies. Use
delaying tactics to achieve this. Let specials hit and decide later
if there is an advantage in negating them. Remember that FFP
has no negates themselves, and hence Can't stop your Vertigo.
