It's all about REYES! This little chick has been overlooked for too long. She's cheap as anything, has a great grid, and has THREE team defense cards - Triage, which can be used defensively, Reluctant Hero which will remove a placed card, and Medical Background, which removes a hit from the current record. AND there are only 3 power cards in the deck she can't use, at least for defense.
The big strategy is to use her to back up Donald Pierce and Onslaught, who have good specials and excellent grids. What's even funkier is that Onslaught only has 3 specials, so when Mutants in Hiding comes up, you can just swap him for Professor X and you lose nothing... while they probably lose a character with good specials, and maybe bring up Spider-Woman who you can then beat on.
I played this deck in a tournament a while back, without Team Overpower
and it did quite well. I found most people attacked Donald Pierce,
unless they weren't playing a deck that was concerned with negates.
Sometimes people tried to attack Reyes, but this was usually a futile effort.
As soon as I draw Force Projection, I place it to her, which leaves her
an unattractive target.
