Weak Link in Chain Attacks
I miss the old days of chaining attacks, when AA specials actually had a use. I enjoyed playing with characters like Namor who has a bazillion attack combo. In fact I won a tournament because of Namor.
Let's see. Don't you think you'd see a lot more ally cards used if you could run attacks together like you used to? Sure you would. You'd see a ton more. I'd even go back to playing the Death From Above any hero. I want to be able to throw down an ally card from one guy, then Death From Above, another ally card, then Atlantis Attacks, followed by Land Sea and Air with its two power card follow ups.
So basically what this involves is two rule changes. First remove the restriction from the first AA special played that says you may only make the one additional attack. I mean it makes no sense anyway. The argument was that the first AA says "may make 1 additional attack" meaning you get strictly ONE additional attack period. That's ridiculous. If i play a card after that says I can make additional attacks, then I should get that next attack!
Second the idioic rule that any hero cards can't be used as additional attacks is even more preposterous than the AA rule and must be reversed. I have no idea what the boneheads were thinking with this one. The cards say ANY HERO. They can be played by ANYONE on your team. Let em play it for goodness sake. This includes the lame-o ruling that you can't get an any hero with Web Headed Wizard. With the massive amounts of characters with negates/avoids (which is a good thing in my opinion) there should be no problem with being able to grab Power Leech for a second time. Shoot most of the time, before the rule was changed, I'd get my Wizard before Leech came up anyway. I guess that's my luck for ya. Still It made for a better game, opening up more strategies and options. In addition, once they changed the rules on us it rendered allies and AA specials generally useless.
So, let's open up the game a bit now. Let's get it back to how the game was meant to be played. I have to tell you more options = more fun. There was nothing unbalanced or abusive about chaining attacks back then. I have no idea why they changed the rules at all, but I really need to see these two get reversed, and soon.
Please send thoughts for other possible rule changes regarding this or any comments you might have to Stryfe.
