Dear Quest For Glory fan,
Hello again from the official Quest For Glory Famous Adventurer's
Correspondence School!
We, the entire Quest For Glory V: Dragon Fire team, would like to
apologize for the carbon copying problems that were occurring with the
first installment of this newsletter. The problems have been corrected,
and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
We have reviewed the responses and counted all the answers to the
question, 'Are our proposed system requirements too high?' which was
posed in the last newsletter and here they are:
1645 of you indicated that you already had a system higher than the
proposed requirements, or would be willing to upgrade to or above the
proposed system requirements, to play the newest installment in your
favorite series, Quest For Glory V: Dragon Fire. 765 of you indicated
that you did not have the system requirements, and would not upgrade to
fulfill them.
A lot of the responses indicated a desire for an MS-DOS version of our
new upcoming title. Unfortunately, the game is being designed and
programmed for Win95 only. With Win95 we are able to use DirectX (Direct
Draw, DirectSound), a programming term called "page flipping", and an
enormous amount of additional resources which allow us to give you
better game play, better graphics, better sound, and minimize
configuration and compatibility problems.
Lori would like to pose this question to all her loyal fans: "Out of the
entire Quest For Glory series, which character is your favorite and why?
" Please send your response when you reply to this edition of the FACS.
We also wanted to thank everyone for emailing us with your suggestions,
comments, questions, and grunts. We have been receiving approximately
fifty messages each day and each one gets an individual response
directly from Lori, or by another team member more suited to answer the
question or comment.
Some of you have indicated that you wanted a conference with Lori in
some type of electronic media. We're proud to say that an official Quest
For Glory conference is in the works and we will notify you as to the
date and time so you may participate.
We've also been getting a lot of fans asking when our demo will come
out. We are working diligently to get a pre-demo release to you by the
end of February, but as to whether it can be downloaded or not is to be
debated (the size will be around 40 something megabytes).
Please keep the mail coming, we appreciate hearing what you have to say
about your upcoming game, Quest For Glory V: Dragon Fire!
Sincerely,
The entire Quest For Glory V team
