Materia

Materia is the most important item in FF7, there are 5 different types and each type has a different effect, theres Magic (green, casts basic attacking spells and defensive spells), Summon (red, summons different creatures which cast magic), Support (blue, adds a quality on to spells, armor, or weapons) Independent (pinkish, affects the status of your character, such as energy or mp) and lastly Command (yellow, adds a command to your menu). All Materia Grows as it could be said, when you finish a battle you will get exp, and something else, that something else goes to your materia, which like you can gain levels. When you look at a materia on you menu you will notice these stars, the stars show what level your materia is on and every time you gain a level one of the stars brighten up, also when they level up you will either gain a ability or that materia will get stronger, lastly when all the stars brighten up the materia gives birth , so that now you have 2 of the same materia.
