Cloudyy ;)))

A kind of hush went over the crowd (well, not really, this gang NEVER hushes) when 28 teams began their try for victory. At the end of this evening, Cloudyy and Deb03 were crowned victorious when they won the Friday Night Partner's Tournament. They edged out Attagirl and Iceman to prove that victory is oh so sweet. When asked how long they had been parding together, they said it was their first time. And they both admit they are free agents when it comes to playing euchre. When asked about their nicknames, Cloudyy said she used to play in the original Iplay as Weather. Deb03 said, "My name is my name - couldn't use just deb somebody else had it so i put 03 after it." Cloudyy is 41 years young and is from Ohio. Deb03 is 31 years young and is from Michigan. Cloudyy just loves the great taste of LaRosa's pizza - which is the best there is!! Both Cloudyy and Deb03 are married. Cloudyy has one son named Jamis (aka Kayin) who's 15 and she also has 2 cats, 3 dogs and 1 goldfish....but doesn't know their names. Thank goodness she remembers her son's name. LOL. Deb03 has one daughter named Tracie who's 10 and a cat named Callie. (Think Deb has a better memory than Cloudyy ... or less pets?) LOL Cloudyy is a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital while Deb03 works at a retirement center in the Plus Care Dept. Deb also indicated that she's really employed by her husband ... "He orders and I do," she stated. LOL ... then immediately said, "NOT!" When these ladies have time off from work - and euchre - how do they relax? Cloudy said she loves the WATER!!!! "We have 2 pwc's and go to Lake Cumberland, KY many weekends every year." Deb03 says when she goes on vacation she likes to travel, campout, and do some boating on Lake Michigan. Now we know why they played so well together!! Cloudyy's favorite movie is the "Glass Menagerie" and her favorite book is "Myst." (Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Oh Myst!!!!) Deb03's favorite movie is "North and South" (I think Patrick Swayze was the main attraction there) and she enjoys reading historical romance novels. Cloudyy tried to fool us by saying she was shy ... but I think she was trying to pull our legs. She's very outgoing and fun to chat with. All Deb03 ever wanted was a euchre partner .. now she has LOTS of them, she says!! When asked how long they've played the game of euchre, Cloudy said about 10 years and Deb03 said about 20 years. When asked how they won tonight, they said they played well off of each other's hands and that is what it takes to win. Deb03 says to always follow your nose to win ... while Cloudyy said that you have to remember that EUCHRE IS AN ART...NOT JUST A CARD GAME!! And those who cannot play should not bother the rest of us. LOL .. what a kidder. Cloudyy feels that in Ohio ... Euchre is LIFE!!!! EUCHRE RULES!!!!! Great playing Ladies!!!

The Consolation Tourney winners were Gidget23 and KEV1NMc who beat out Roxxx and Chris501. They've been playing together now for about two months. Kevin's nickname just about matches his real name, while Gidget has been watching way too much TV. (And we've all seen MoonDogy hanging out in Westwood, too ... coincidence??) Gidget also uses the name DeeeeeeDee in Westwoodl. Kevin used to use Panther1, Shadome, Yukker, abKevin and others. We think he just might have a split personality problem. (Maybe he should watch One Life to Live and check out Vikki.) LOL When asked where they are from, Gidget tells us Indiana, while Kevin is originally from Coventry, England, but now resides in Guelph Ontario, Canada. We asked him if he had an accent, and he says no ... but people with accents never realize they have one. LOL Kevin is 41 years young, divorced, and has a 15-year-old daughter. Gidget is married and has two sons (29, 19) and two daughters (22, 21). She claims she's 28 ... but then quickly changes it to 48 (like we'd believe she'd be 28 with a 29 year old - YEAH RIGHT!). Gidget works for Mobil (in management). She says, "I'm that FRIENDLY face you see every morning when you stop for coffee - LOL." Gidget also likes to visit www.beaniebabies on the net. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys doing stained glass. He's been doing this for over 20 years. Whereas Gidget prefers to sleep. LOL Gidget's favorite movie is "Gidget goes Hawaiian." (Now how did we know she'd say that - LOL). And she also loves the movie "Titanic." Kevin tells us his favorite is "Bambi" ... then tells us it's not "Bambi" - he was joking. Kevin's favorite book is "The Choice" by Og Mandino ... which is about a man who buys a house, writes a book, and then makes a lot of money. (Kevin's goal, perhaps?). Gidget's favorite is "Shanna." Kevin admits he's an easy-going guy, while Gidget tells us he likes red licorice. Kevin must have been hungry because he ate a whole bag while playing euchre. Kevin has been playing euchre about 22 years now ... while Gidget just began playing in November, 1997. (I'm thinking he must have been a great teacher for Gidget!) When asked how they happened to win tonight, Kevin said, "Gidget and I seem to play great together." to which Gidget replied, "yup, Kevin bids on nada and I cover his bids - LOL." And they both agree - if you aren't having fun - then what's the point? Gidget says Kevin always agrees with her - that's why they make a good team!! LOL ... Congratulations - you done good!!

Let's face it. We are going to run into all types of people on the Net. Not only GPP, but any interactive site we can access. Some patterns emerge in all of them that are as amusing as they are psychologically challenging.

For example: "Age, sex, location?" My favorite answer is, "ripe, sure, your place."

What this multiple query is really saying is. "My parent's finally broke down and bought me this CD so I don't have to spend all my time at the 'zone'."

As much as we try to project qualities more enhancing than our true selves, I think these common expressions mark the individual anyway. Take NE, for instance. You KNOW no one is really congratulating you for euchring them, so you might as well just revert to true form... KMA!

"How old are you?" (actually typed to a female!) translates to: "I never ONCE got smucked in the head while growing up. In fact, I'm still using acne pads, but I'm developed enough to be interested in anyone with a hot name like yours!!!!"

"Are you lagging?" = "Are you on the phone, ICQ, downloading, or WHAT???"

"These guys are skunking us, pard." = "BID, dammit, would you???"

"Do you two know each other?" = "Are you cheating?" OR "Are one of you fair game tonight?"

"What's trump?" = "WOW! That quarterback got LEVELED!!!"

"What time does the tourney start?" = "Would you please include my name in the newsletter this week???"

"LOL, LOL, LOL" = "I think you're cute!"

"Are there any women at this table?" (typed to Ladybird, Lindabird and Lucybird) = "I'm not too swift but I'll do any fantasy you want that consists of all two syllable words."

"I had a black loner" = "I'd like to knock you off your chair right now."

"Sorry, mismouse" = "Sorry, the big love scene was just on my movie here."

"*@#!~~~\ NEED PLAYERS AT DOOFTHEGOOF'S TABLE/~~~~!#@*" = "I know I started this table with three other tables waiting to be filled, but I'm louder and I WANNA BE HOST."

You get the idea... in fact, I'm sure everyone does it to some degree, sometimes as a courtesy effort, and other times because people just can't hide their basic nature. That's good, though. Without the facial expressions and body language available to us, it's about the only psychological advantage left. Just don't let on that you know :)
