Calamity(?) Sue . . . nice haircut!! ;)))   Bill Herm & his lovely wife, Donna!! ;)))

There were 22 teams praying for a win in the Friday Night Partners' Euchre Tourney, but alas, only one came out on top - CalamityS & billherm! They won a tough game against KcCoggins and MsMai. Calamity & Bill have been partners for about 5 months now. Calamity got her name because she is what her name says - a calamity. LOL. Actually she didn't like Calamity Jane so chose Calamity Susan and shortened it to CalamityS. Bill says she's really the GREAT granddaughter of Calamity Jane - on her father's side. Bill says his nickname was supposed to be different, but he messed up during installation and ended up with billherm. Bill tells us, "I also use Donill - Don for the wife, I play second fiddle... just like real life." Calamity tells us she was born a male but was so confused that she had one of those operations. And then Jerry Springer straightened her/him. Calamity is 48 years young, was born and raised in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, and now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She tells us she is married but has a divorce pending for the last 25 years. She is a retired attorney who's turned into a rancher. She has three daughters (Shawn/26, Tracie/24, Kerry/23). He calls himself a "Texadelphian." Bill says he's been married for 17 years. He didn't want to admit to any children, but Jo insisted. Calamity tells us her favorite movie is "Chorus Line," favorite TV show is "Highlander," her favorite song is "Small Hotel," and her favorite color is brown. Bill's favorite movie is "Mr. Lucky," favorite TV show is "Aly McBeal," favorite song is "I'm Not Afraid" by the late, great Frank Sinatra, and his favorite color is green. Although Kaliki doesn't say much, she did want everyone to know her favorite color is teal and pouted when Jo told her we weren't asking her for her answer. I had to give her a box of Lady Godiva chocolates in order to make her happy. I actually heard contented sounds coming from her corner. When asked how long they had been playing euchre, Bill tells us about six weeks longer than Jo, which has been about 2.5 years. Calamity said she learned during her freshman year in college (about 30 years ago) and that you couldn't graduate unless you played the Dean a hand of euchre. They won tonight because Calamity bid every time it was her turn to bid and let Bill cover her. Bill tells us, "I just played defense really ... Sue did almost all the bidding for us! I was along for the ride." When asked if they had any euchre tips to share, Calamity said, "Pray your partner can at least take two tricks when you bid." Bill told us he was glad that Greg let them win that first match. When asked for any last words of wisdom, Calamity told us, "When you make fried zucchini, have sex on top of it before you bread it ... it gives it wonderful spices that no one can figure out. Is true story!" Jo (in shock) said, "Remind me NOT to eat at HER place!!!" Calamity also wanted us all to know that you should never trust your lawyer, your stockbroker or Bill to sign you up for tourneys. Bill's reply, "LMAO.. brat." Bill, "Thanks, y'all! It was a blast! And thanks to you for carrying me, pard! :x" CalamityS, "Thanks for the pressure ... er ... pleasure; can't wait to do it again next week ." CONGRATULATIONS YOU TWO - YOU PLAYED GREAT !!
