KatieRed with "a body I would kill for" ;);) KatieRed GoFletch - What's in those glasses??? And WHY is there more than ONE in front of you??? ;);)

It was a quiet and peaceful Friday night, probably because of the long weekend. We had 18 teams vying for the coveted prize of "Euchre Champs" and GOFLETCH & KatieRed did it! They beat out all others to take top prize. (OK, so we don't give out prizes, but don't tell anyone!) KatieRed, who is 47 and has hazel eyes, was born in Columbus, Ohio. Katie has been married for 25 years, has three children (Megan/23, Kelly/21, Kevin/20) and works as a Secretary/Bookkeeper at an elementary school. She tells us that she works 8:00 AM - 2:35 PM and the second the bell rings, she's outta there ... great perk to the job! Katie likes to play softball, read, and play games of any kind. (Though she wouldn't tell us what type of games!) GOFLETCH, who is 45 and has eyes of blue, was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Fletch is widowed with two children (Hollie/13, Glen/10) and works as a Purchasing Specialist for an aircraft manufacturer. Fletch likes to golf, camp with his kids, and play competitive 10 pin bowling. Katie tells us if she could travel anywhere in the world she would go to Montreal to meet GOFLETCH. (Awwwww, that's so sweet!). Of course, Fletch said he'd go to Tahiti to see the women Marlon Brandon saw in the movies. (Typical guy answer.) If they had a million dollars, Katie would buy a gym for her school because it's a pain in winter when they have to move all the tables in the cafeteria. GOFLETCH would buy a large camper and travel the world with his kids (and take Katie along as their teacher). Katie's favorite movies are any "chick flicks" - she loves to cry at movies. Her favorite TV Shows are "Seinfeld and NYPB Blue" (because of Jimmy Smitt's butt); favorite Song is "Lara's Theme" from Dr. Zhivago; favorite color is red. Fletch's favorite movies are "The Godfather" and "Porky's"; favorite TV Show is "Hill Street Blues"; favorite Song is "Popeye the Sailor Man" (he's so funny); favorite color is blue. Myst asked this question, "If you could invite anyone to dinner (living or dead) who would that be and why?" My answer was, "I'd invite Elvis, and sit on his lap while he sang 'Love Me Tender' to me!" Then Kaliki said she met him (up close and personal) and got his car. She told me she'd tell me later all about that - so Kaliki - this is notice - 'fess up! Katie would invite Jimmy Smitts from NYPD Blue, so she could see his butt "up close and personal!" LOL. Fletch would invite Bill Cosby because he's a person who gives the impression of someone who has patience, knowledge, and humor. (He does, I was at one of his concerts - and he's all those things!) Katie chose her nickname because her name is "Katie" and Red is part of her last name. Katie has been playing euchre for a longggggggggg time (since she was a teenager), while Fletch has only been playing about two years. Fletch choose his nickname "Go" for Gord and Fletch" for Fletcher. Fletch thinks a friend would describe him as amicable, while Katie thinks a friend would describe her as outgoing, loyal, and a pick-me-upper. Which, of course, led to Fletch asking her to "pick him up a hamburger and fries." My question was, "Who are you picking up, Katie?" to which she replied, "Anybody that will take me! LOL." Katie & Fletch have been partnering together for about a month now, though Katie says she's easy and will play with anybody you'll have her. Fletch spoke up and said, "I'm easy - I'll be your regular pard, if you want me." They tell us they won tonight because they euchred their opponents a lot, they had a lot of luck, and Katie said Fletch was HOT! Fletch said Katie is psychic - knows what to lead and when. Katie said, "When you play euchre just Go For It! Iffy ones and edge calls pay off at least 50% of the time." Fletch said just to have FUN! Katie tells us her family and friends make her happy. Her favorite people are kids - she loves some of the things they come up with and kids are just so honest. Fletch tells us his kids succeeding in whatever they try makes him happy. Fletch likes anyone who is honest and unpretentious - with no hidden agendas. He deals with those kinds of people in business every day. Guess that's why he likes to come play with us on Friday night, huh? We've got no hidden agendas - we just want to WIN, WIN, WIN! Katie said she's met some really great people here and she feels like she has some real friends. She also met some in Indy, too. Her family thinks she's crazy. Fletch told us to spend as much time with your kids as you can, only they will carry on your legacy to the future. CONGRATS YOU TWO - YOU DID A GREAT JOB!

The winners of the Consolation Tourney were Desiree2 & Precious2. They edged out runners-up Bewhiched & Bunchie for this win. Desiree, who will only admit to being over 30, has blue eyes and lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She's single and would love to go to Greece if she could travel anywhere. Desiree tell us she plays with money (I think that means she's a finance broker) and normally loves it. But with the stock market this week, it hasn't been as much fun. Precious, who will be 43 on September 8 (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PRECIOUS!!), has dark brown eyes, was born in Delaware, but now lives in Kentucky. She's married and has one daughter (Jana/18) who's a freshman in college. She would love to go to Europe. Desiree is a principal of a special school (in a psychiatric hospital) and she loves it. They even let her go home on a pass almost every weekend! LOL. Precious tell us she'd buy Westwood if someone gave her a million dollars. That way she would win more often. Desiree said she'd like to buy an RV and travel. When not working or playing euchre, Desiree enjoys reading, camping, hiking, biking, and playing games other than euchre (but don't tell Precious). Precious tells us, "I always say reading and swimming, but the truth is when I'm not working or playing euchre, I'm sleeping LOL." Hey - at least she's honest! Precious2's favorite movie is "Somewhere in Time"; favorite TV Show is "ER"; favorite song is "Rachmoninoff's variation on a theme by Paganini"; favorite color is royal blue. Desiree's favorite movie is "Ghost"; favorite TV Show is "L.A. Law" (although she usually has no time for TV); favorite song is "Theme from Love Story"; favorite color is all black or red cards (if she gets the chance to name the suit). When asked who they'd like to ask for dinner, Precious said it sure as heck would not be Martha Stewart! Desiree said she'd like to invite all the people she plays euchre with; it would be so much fun to meet them. Desiree chose her nickname because it's her name. She also uses Athena because she thinks she is Athena! Precious chose her name because an online friend suggested she use it. She has a cat named that. Precious also used PamelaDC. Precious has been playing euchre for about a year online. Desiree has been playing for about 11 months. They've been partnering together for about 8-9 weeks. Precious also partners with MGD2 when he's online. Desiree said when she's Athena, she also plays with Josh or HDHONEY. If a friend described Desiree, she thinks they'd describe her as a euchre addict. Precious hopes her friend would say she was kind. Precious says hearing children laugh makes her happy. When asked who their favorite people are, Precious tried to suck up to us and said her partner and the tourney sponsors. Of course when Kaliki told her there were no prizes, she changed her tune. Desiree told us she likes Precious, Beeze, HDHoney, Josh, GoFletch, all the GPP's, KatieRed, Foxwell, and all the other Westwood players. (WHEW!) Since they won, Desiree wanted to say "neener neener" to Athena. "I showed her!" Desiree said. Precious said that being interviewed was harder than winning. (Oh come on, you didn't have fun?) LOL.
