Well, the first Partners' Euchre Tourney is history....if you missed it, you missed all kinds of fun!!!
*Drum roll* Congratulations
to the winners of our first ever Partners' Euchre Tournament . . . Norma
and Greatest!!! They played some great euchre and managed to win out over
runners up BigDesch and Sheba. Norma and Greatest have been playing together
for about two months. This was Norma's first online euchre tourney...have
to say she did quite well for herself. Greatest explained how he plays
. . . he always goes for the euchre....but remembers "its only a game."
He claims to owe his success to percentages. Greatest says the deck has
only X number of cards and he watches what's been played and keeps in mind
what could happen. His winning two tips for all the beginners out there
are: never lead off trump if the opponents call and always try to lead
trump if your partner calls. Norma was so excited by winning that she was
speechless . . . she just smiled a lot and was a very gracious winner!!!
Greatest told us "She was a talker as a kid!!" LOL!!! He also explained
his nickname . . . "It's from Ali, because he was the Greatest!" When asked
if he floated like a butterfly he commented, "And I also kiss like a Frenchman!!"
LOL!!! Once again congratulations you two!!!

In a very intense and well played final's match, MrsBoop and Jac were the winners of our Consolation Tournament, but runners up FNChurch and Housewife really made them work for it right to the very end. MrsBoop has only been playing euchre for one month and this was her first euchre tournament, Jac just started playing in January and this was the first time they played together...wtg, both of you!!! They were courteous winners and Jac attributed their success to all the bowers MrsBoop had whenever she dealt and added, "I kept getting us euchred!" LOL!!! But from what we saw, he did a great job!! Since MrsBoop just learned to play euchre she commented, "I always appreciate constructive criticism." MrsBoop volunteered that she's Boopster's mother, is 56 years old and has nine grandkids with one more on the way! She is also the only one who sent us a picture of herself!! Congratulations you two!! |
And there are a few other awards we need to hand out....
The Superglue Award to Roxxx for the most disconnections. The runner up for this award was Menz, her pard. Together they also win the night's Invisible Partners' Award! Honorable mention in this category goes to Jo for the most untimely crashes. Good thing none of you could hear her cursing! LOL!
The incredible Vanishing Partner Award goes to MrsBoop for the hardest time finding and keeping a partner (and just look where she ended up...LOL).
The Marathon Award goes to Schotime and Dunk and Norma and Greatest for the longest game on record.
Lynn10 and OgreJim won the Less of a Loser Award for not losing ALL their games.
FNChurch and Housewife win the Feed the World Award for bringing all the food and drink for the bash. (Even if Kaliki did growl whenever we tried to get the bottle back from her! LOL!)

do appreciate your diligence and good humor. This was the first time we've
ever hosted a tournament and though there were some technical problems
y'all were really patient with us! We hope you had as good a time participating
