I always used used to tell Val the same thing. Val what's up with that eMail address? I am not going to tell the entire thing but it seems like a bra size because part of it is dd44. The ending part is the part that is really the killer @aol.com.

First let me say this their are three great evils in the world they are <<Microsoft << Satan << AOL on any given day the order may change but those are without a doubt the greatest evil's. To explain why I am going to give you my Theory of Computers©:

Everyone knows that the worlds worst buggiest operating system is windows. Its suit of inferior software utilities like Microsoft Access, are only some of the story. Microsoft regurally releases its operating systems every 2 years, they add some bullshit to tell you why you "need" to upgrade to the newer, faster, better windows. Really every new version of windows in just like downloading a new winamp skin. Nothing works differently you just have to click different things to make it work. Plus I do not think an upgrade ever works right.

For example have you ever heard someone taking pride in something they are supposed to do like, "I take care of my kids!". You are supposed to take care of your kids asshole. People talk the same way about windows, "I installed windows XP. And it worked perfectly!" Its supposed to work perfectly asshole you just paid 199 dollars for that shit. The fact is that some stuff that Microsoft makes works, and a smaller percentage works well.

The truth is if you were willing to go off and download software like mySQL and spent an hour learning how to use it you would have skills in a product about 400% better then microsoft access. Most people figure why bother if everyone else uses access I will too. Its like pc peer pressure.

Take IIS for example an inferior second rate apache knockoff included in the windows shell. You hear all the Microsoft fans saying, "Ow my god IIS is so great you can set up an FTP Server, and a web Server, even a mail server.!" What a bunch of dicks! I had ftp software for windows 3.1, the same is true with all that stuff. imagine if Microsoft released its products separately for example. Microsoft IIS. No one would buy it

So anyway back to the Theory of Computers©

The entire computer world is backwards. Windows 9x-xp is the worst OS and the utter worst Server software. Yet more then 85% of computer run windows and more then 50% of servers. What is the best microprocessor? RISC like the ones found on Mac's they are undoubtably better then PC. But what chips are everyone using CISC. Now it gets even worst. What is better AMD or INTEL? again everyone is using Intel but its worse. Now how does this apply to AOL? In the same way. AOL is the whackest online service in the US (and in mexico now). Why is everyone using AOL, because they are too afraid to configure their pop mail. To prove my AOL point I am going to include a letter from Val since it is his update after all

The story why my dad cancelled AOL.
Last year, we got DSL service on my computer. We decided to keep AOL since it was supposed to be only $10 a month. Last month my dad noticed that all this time, he's been charged $20 instead of ten. So, he called them up and asked for a refund. They said that AOL doesn't give refunds, but they are willing to give us the next 8 months of free service. My dad agreed.
.. Two days ago
Dad: Holy Shit!!! I've been charged $200.00 for this month of AOL!!!

He called them up again. Since AOL doesn't give refunds, they offered us the next 4 months of free service. My father denied. It turns out that AOL seems to have horrible bookkeeping. Instead of being switched to free service, we were charged by the minute. Smartly, my dad decided to cancel AOL.

That's the story, maybe you'll put it on your website and spread the word.

I dont know what to say about that, Val. I suggest that you not forget about what AOL did to you. Then one day when you make a lot of money you could use your power and knowledge of the deadly arts of programming to make Steve Case your Butler. by the way his email is stevecase@aol.com

In fact the computer world is like this all around me. I know a host of people that could not program a VCR with the instruction manual, and these people get better grades in school then me. At first this made me mad but then I realized this is norm for computers. the worst always win out. Its not like the movies the bad guys always win. If you have bad software people buy it. Then once you control the market you can fuck over all the smart people by bundling inferior knock off versions of their software along with your software.
