This game starts after Guybrush Threepwood escapes from the dreaded Big Whoop. He finds his girlfrirnd, Elaine, while dealing with the evil zombie LeChuck. He blows up LeChuck's ship, gets a huge diamond ring from the ship and he and Elaine end up on the shores of Plunder Island. Guybrush asks Elaine to marry him, and gives her the diamond ring he found. She puts it on herself and is immediately turned into a gold statue. Now Guybrush must set off on his adventure to turn Elaine back.
This game is a graphic adventure, which means that Guybrush goes around, gets items, and uses them in some situations. There are various islands you go to, and there are many other people. It lasts a long time, and even if you know exactly what to do, it still will take hours to go through the whole story. That is very good for this type of game!
