In Sim City 2000, you are a small town's mayor, and you're trying to expand it into a big metropolis.

There are 3-4 zooms and 4-5 game speeds depending on what version you are running. There are 4 main building zones which are residential (houses galore), commercial (corporate buildings, shops, etc), and industrial (industries galore), and other special buildings (power plants, police/fire stations, schools, colleges, arcologies, and more). There is a yearly budject report that tells you how you are doing, newspapers with info, and natural diasasters if you keep the natural diasaster option on.
