Sired in the Vampire Court:
If you are new to the Court but you already know the rules,
you would do well to make your first character with an NPC (non-player character)
sire. This avoids a lot of groundwork, and is just as effective. If you don't know
the rules, you will meet with some difficulty finding a sire.
But if you are looking for one . . .Here's
what not to do:
1. Don't beg. It's annoying, and an easy way to lose
the respect of other players.
2. Don't put mortal on the end of your name hoping some random Vampire will notice. If you are mortal, they will notice anyway. Mortals do things that most Vampires do not. . .like breath and swallow. There are plenty of ways to exhibit the fact that you are still human without that tag at the end of your name.
3. Don't Private Message everyone in the room and ask them to sire you. This often leads to public ridicule, as do most uninvited PM's . . .
So what should you do?
1. In the Court itself, try to find a sire politely.
Ask someone OOC if you can PM them to discuss it, or post OOC that you are seeking
a sire. If you know the rules, you will find someone. If you don't know the rules,
you may find you'll have to learn a bit more or make more friends before you find
a sire.
2. Outside the Court, try posting something on the message board. Be sure to include your e-mail address and the clans you are interested in. This doesn't always get the best response, but it's far more dignified than begging.
