Bottom Line: Must have for RPGers
This is a must have for anyone who loves RPG's. It has all the requirements of a classic: a great plot, good characters, memorable music, cool spell effects, and original enemies.
The best part of this game is it's unpredictability. Since it involves the idea of time travel it opens up many new possibilities. The most important is the ability to get different endings depending on when you win the game. An example being, if you beat the game without ever going to prehistoric times, the Reptites will destroy the humans and the people in the present will now be dinosaurs. So, it is possible that anything you do may effect the future, for good or bad.
The characters in this game are cool and some are very original, ranging from a robot from the future to a cursed man from the Dark Ages. As you may have guessed from the title, you play Crono, just a regular kid who is going to see the Millennial Fair, a huge celebration of the changing of the century. While there you will meet a strange girl who asks if she can tag along with you. Eventually, you will arrive at the unveiling of your scientist friend Lucca's newest invention. She asks you to try it out and it works perfectly. Next the girl will ask if she can try, but this time something goes wrong. This is where your HUGE adventure begins.
After the girl disappears you decide to go after her. The device malfunctions and sends you off to wherever the girl disappeared to. From their the story unfolds to cover the entire world in 7 different time periods, each with their own missions and new characters. The time periods range from 65,000,000,000 BC to the End of Time. Through your journey you will discover startling facts about your world, from it's grizzly creation to it's startling demise. However, if you try hard enough and never give up you may save the world from total annihilation.
