Bottom Line: Great game with 3 player capability.
This is one of my personal favorites. It's a really fun game that supports 3 people with an adapter. If you have never played this before, go out and rent it and play with a friend.
The game starts out with you and some friends exploring around a waterfall. As you are walking across the falls on a log you slip and fall, landing by the pool at the bottom. As you try and find your way home you hear a strange voice calling you from the pool. You walk over to see who is calling your name, only to find a ghost floating above a sword in the water. He tells you to come and take the sword. After you take the sword you walk home, but now monsters are appearing where they had never been.
From here your quest to restore the power of Mana, revive the Sword, and generally save the world begins. The game encompasses the entire world. You will fight in just about every environment on earth and then some. Terrain ranges from the Kakkara Desert to the Ice Country in the north and even the void of space! The enemies and people you meet are greatly varied, but can sometimes get repetitious.
One of the best features in this game are the weapons. You have the ability to use the sword, spear, axe, fighting gloves, boomerangs, bow & arrow, javelin, and the whip. To make it even more interesting there are 9 variations of each weapon. With each version there is a new special attack to be learned. These attacks greatly increase the amount of damage dealt out. The magic in this game also has a cool feature where if you get a spell up to level 8:50 or so, it changes into an even deadlier and infinitely cooler spell.
About the only bad thing I can think of is that the music can get drowned out very easily. If you are into a major battle a few channels of music are drowned out by sound effects. If you ever want to just listen to the music you should just pause it.
