Core is definitely one of its kind. The main purpose of the game is for a curmudgeon (newbie) to try and attain citizenship level on this planet that is famous for its mining of nearly every conceivable mineral. The newbie player has to kill things from cockroaches to android guards.
Core offers many incredible features. Firstly, the colour, now some of you may or may not have seen ANSII-colour muds, but this was a first for us. Like a bunch of damn schoolgirls.. Well, Core is in colour. Secondly, is the fact that there really is not much player killing. the only way a player can legally kill another is if they are collecting bounty. Thirdly, this is the real cool one, Core contains its own economy!!! In Core, shops are run by players and mines are run by Citizens. Citizens then rent space for players to build shops within that citizens dome. These shops are pretty damn cool and sell anything from food to weapons to artificial implant limbs:). Then of course is the advantage of reaching citizenship. Once granted citizenship to Core, you are allocated a Dome (area) that you can customize to the way you want it. (Domes are like hotels, shopping malls and killing fields all rolled into one)
However, Core does have a bit of a lag problem but it isn't really that serious. Another setback in Core is the amount of players. Due to not really being widely known, Core suffers from a lack of players. We felt that would the entry of more players to Core make it better though. Right now it is pretty damn good.
Gods: There aren't really any gods located in Core mostly Citizens. The best thing about these citizens is that they don't have unlimited powers and are really very friendly. Unlike other muds where the gods have egos bigger than the sahara, Core citizens are alway willing to offer help (and jobs) to anyone who made need them.
Advice: If you are into a quiet nice friendly mud where pkilling is the last thing you have to worry about, then Core is the one for you. Its friendly atmosphere make the initial confusion of a new mud just go away.
If you wanna pay a visit to Core (recommended), then follow the link to their webpage (which is also pretty good for info) either the one below or just click on the Core logo at the top of the page. Enjoy!!
