At last, We got this done... The Last Outpost. Well it isn't a really good one. We must admit that we were rushed abit with the finish of this mud, so any mistakes let us know.
Basically in an overall sort of way. This mud is a no go. The immortals were absent half the time and when we were playing we never had more than 6 people online. In all fairness this may have been due to the time difference between Australia and the USA, but no other muds we came across had this problem. We had alot of difficulty playing this mud and because of the lack of immortals we had shit all ideas of what was happening most of the time. Another thing was that, most people playing this mud were already known to each other and it was hard to get any of them to talk to you.
Another big issue that we found really irritating is the lack of exits displayed. This means that you have to read the room description meticulously (and they ain't short). Confusing directions and a definite lack of mobs. I, myself, was contending whether to display this review at all. But I felt that I may have been unfair as to the perception I gained of this mud and thought that someone might be able to give some feedback on it.
Besides all that, they also have this leveling system in which you can simultaneously level as a mage, thief, warrior, or cleric all with the one character. This in itself had some advantages, but mostly you spend half the time trying to improve the class you want and trying not to affect the others.
Advice: Well its pretty clear that this mud is more like a private game in Diablo or something. You have the set lot of players and thats it. In my opinion this mud fails. However if you are the type of person that prefers the quieter less socialable muds then this is worth a try, at least for that reason anyway. If you like a challenge, then go for it, give it a try.
