M26 Dragonwagon is Available Now!

Tamiya's 40 ton tank transporter is now available in Japan for a price of 9800 yen. It's release date is 10 Dec 98. For those considering mail-ordering, the shipping cost will be expensive since it is a large item. What a Christmas for modellers!!


Perfect Grade Gundam Optional Parts

Bandai of Japan has announced the release of an Upgrade set for their Perfect Grade Gundam. This includes LED illuminated light saber and clear body parts to replace the white ones in the original kit. Release date is estimated to be in late December.


Complete Jumbo Conversion

Though not exactly the latest news, The Tankshop has released a complete Jumbo conversion. This kit enables us to convert Tamiya's standard M4A3 Sherman to a accurate Jumbo assault tank. It includes an uparmoured hull and nose, turret with separate mantlet and hatches, solid hub road wheels, accurate idler wheels and lastly an aluminium barrel. Price is US$42/-.

Update on Perfect Grade RX-78 Gundam

This gigantic kit was released over the weekend in Japan. Additional pics on box content and internal mechanics of the model can be seen. Judging from the joints, full articulation of all arms and limbs maybe possible; making it the first Bandai kit to feature full anime action. Retails for 12,000 yen, about S$150/-.

High Grade Wing Gundam:Clear Metallic Version

Bandai of Japan has just announced the release of 8 new HG Wing Gundam in transparent and plated plastics. These include the popular W-Gundam Zero(pictured here),  H-Arms and Sandrock.

US WWII Tank Ace

1/35 scale figure from C.D. Yoshi of Japan. Features Sgt Lafayett Poole in standard US tankers outfit. Kit includes choice of arms, head and boots. Poole is famous for leading the US 3rd Armoured Division in ETO, being known as the tip of its spearhead. Figure retails about 1000yen.

8.8cm Flakwilling Turret Conversion

Chesapeake Model Designs have released this new conversion kit for DML's E-100 or Maus. This is a fictitious vehicle and existed only on the drawing board. For hardcore German fans. Retailing for US $40/-


Bandai's Digital Camera

Bandai of Japan is releasing a digital camera to commerate 20th anniversary of Gundam. It comes in of 2 versions: 1 Federation and 1 Zion. The digital camera comes with a 0.8 million CCD, and will retail about 38,000 yen.


Perfect Grade: RX-78-2 Gundam

Bandai's Perfect Grade Gundam is slated for a late Nov release. It will be available in Japan on 27th Nov. For those who just couldn't wait for this state of the art injection marvel, both Rainbow Ten and Hobbylink accept pre-order. This 1/60 scale baby features full interior mechanics and movable outer penals for easy viewing of the details.The 'Perfect' Christmas grift.

 


Tamiya's Centaur IV

The M26 Dragon Wagon has completely overshadowed this new release from the manufacturing giant. It's basically a re-armed Cromwell, this time with a 95mm howitzer. Release date is estimated to be early '99.

This much anticipated kit will be release in Japan in December to commemorate Tamiya's 30 years of military modelling. It is over 50cm long and features photo-etched frets and optional parts. Finemold's Type 3 Medium Tank

Finemold of Japan have released an injection plastic kit for this tank. A much welcomed addition to the obscure and neglected Japanese armour. List price is 3800 yen and features high quality molding standards, rivaling those of Tamiya's.
