I'm one of those modelers that goes out and buys lots of kits and completes them pretty much all
at the same time.
As such I have a lot of models under construction. I switch between them as I go bored of the
current kit or more often when I hit a technical difficulty. Generally "argghhh this is to hard
for me...". Oh well.
Currently I am building a 1/35 Sherman. Italeri's M4A3 Sherman with Calliope. Kit no 288.
I'm not having that much fun...first I cocked up the wheels after not reading the instructions and
then after fixing that problem. re-assembling the bogies with the other wheels as suggested by the
instructions I came across some photographic evidence that perhaps I should have kept the first lot
of wheels. BUGGER. Worst the photos show one of the possible tanks the kit makes (using the provided
decals) as having different side armour (Those plates that got welded over critical parts of the
tank). I'm also not quite sure over the turret shape ..oh well my current plan is to hell with the
evidence I'm going to build it according to the instructions.
Current problem with the kit related to the calliope barrels in which the seams inside the barrels are visible as the plastic thins at the seams. This makes the barrels look slightly ovalish and is pissing me off. It seems to me to be a very difficult thing to fix. I'm going to try putty.
Also vying for my attention are
Luke Skywalker Esci-Ertl vinyl? kit (Damned if I know how to build a vinyl kit Damned if I know how I'm going to successfully light the saber but IT WILL BE LIT)
DML1:35 Afika Korps kubelwagon (Damn roof)
Dragon 1:16 British paratroop guy (damn cammo pattern)
Dragon 1:35 British Desert Rats (Gulf war) (damn cammo pattern)
Dragon 1:35 WWII Russian Antitank troops (I've done one of four but the others will wait for a diorama due to the poses of the figures)
Darth Vaders Tie Fighter (to hard too much putty to big to put anywhere...oh for a large display cabinet or two or three or..)
Italeri 1:35 RSO towing PAk 40
Dragon 1:35 PLA Hong Kong Garrison
Dragon 1:16 "Screaming Eagle" WWII American Soldier
Dragon 1:35 Modern US 82 Airborne kit no 3006
Assuming I obtain the display cabinet of my dreams
Star Wars Shuttle Tyderium
Hasegawa 1:48 F14 D
Plus numerous kits I will probably never get back to.
I have many kits which could do with a big display cabinet
