This is a 4-player game in which two teams play against one another. The deck consists of the cards from 9 up to Ace, for a total of 24 cards. Each player is dealt 5 cards with the remaining four forming the "kitty". Based on his/her hand, a player decides whether to make "trump" (highest ranking suit). The jack of the trump suit is the highest card and the jack of the other suit of the same color is the second. Rank then goes from Ace down to the 9. Scoring depends on who made trump and how many tricks were taken. The game goes to 10 points.
Personal History and Thoughts:
THE card game for my family. My brother taught me how to play it when I was around 13 or 14. Now family reunions are not complete without a game or two or ten being played.
