the (unofficial) Carmen Homepage |
|
Hello, and welcome to the first (as far as I know) Carmen webpage. Carmen is a very good band from the mid-70s, for whom there seems to be an underabundance of material. Therefore, my own knowledge of them is limited. I have included my email address so that anyone else with information can contribute.
Unfortunately I no longer have time to dedicate to this site anymore, but it doesn't really matter because, like I said, I know practically nothing which I can add. However, I have gotten a lot more response than I ever imagined, and have had several people make some great contributions. Anyone with anything to add, please do so, and you will get full credit. Basically, this site will be whatever people are able to put into it. I may not be the best person to undertake this, but so far I'm the only one to try. That is what prompted me to start this page: I could not find anything on the internet about Carmen--but that has changed! See the links below for the new, apparently official Carmen website!
So far I've got the interview by Martha Klassanos (thank you thank you thank you!) and some pictures. I would really like to include lyrics but a lot of them are in Spanish. If anyone knows any translations, or can just spell them out for me (I know absolutely nothing about Spanish), I'd love to hear from you. Also, if you've got pictures, information, or links to other Carmen or related sites, please drop me a line. Or if you are just another Carmen fan and want to let me know you're out there, that's great too. I've gotten several emails so far and it's great to know that other people do listen to this band.
In the meantime, you're free to browse the site and see what I've done with it so far.
The first Link here went to my other page, but I'm getting rid of it and turning it into this page. When I first started this page I never thought anyone would ever see it, so I filled it with crap. Now I want to remove the clutter. The second link goes to one of my favorite pages: Cup of Wonder--the annotated Jethro Tull lyrics page (there is a connection between Tull and Carmen in the form of the late great John Glascock). I am still working on a links page which will have more.

Any comments, suggestions, etc. are welcome and encouraged! As I have said, my knowledge about Carmen is very limited. This is mainly because there is just not much about them to be found, which is the whole reason for this page. So if anyone has any information about Carmen, please share!
