The Beginning of Split Shot
Well, one day Christina Birkett and Ashlie Pierson wrote to Mike Neff, at WebDelSol, editor-in-chief, creator, web architect, artist of the Eclectic Culture System, requesting writing tips. Mike responded "Why not start a high school review or site at Pi_R_Round, like Mercersburg Review. Christina and Ashlie were excited. I was excited. The 6th period class was excited. All my classes got excited.
Well, here we are: Split Shot. Each of my classes at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia is responsible for an issue of our new journal, Split Shot: A Journal of Writing. As stated in our submission guidelines "we are committed to publishing quality writing" from students and others who love to write. Thanks to Mike Neff, I have more students interested in writing and publishing, which certainly makes my job much easier and enjoyable.
We are only the second school to take up the challenge, Mercersburg Academy being the first, but we feel honored to be a part of a growing society of writers and to be part of WebDelSol and its culture. I hope that you enjoy the writing and images, and feel free to respond or comment. My name is John Bush and cheers.
All the webpage work for the first issue was done by Justin Busby. Justin is an intermediate web designer who plans to go into web designing as a career. If you would like to reach Justin you can email him here.
This month, the webpage has been designed by Ryan Stewart. Ryan is also very interested in web design and programming. If you would like to contact Ryan you can email him here.
