Sasquatch
Man Monster or Monster Man?

The relaunch of Alpha Flight brings with it a few new surprises. Firstly, there was the return of a younger James MacDonald Hudson -- Guardian -- as leader of the new team. Then, perhaps more dramatically, there was the introduction of a Sasquatch unfamiliar to readers. Where was the rollicking, wise-cracking orange-furred behemoth we knew and loved? In his place was a malformed, tusked brute, incapable of speech and prone to savage rages, eager to attack friend and foe alike!!

Theories abound among Alpha Flight fans as to how Sasquatch came to be thus transformed. No one credits General Clarke's explanation that Department H found him roaming like a beast in the forests near the North Thompson River. Some give credence to Sasquatch's apperance in Deadpool #1, citing that the radiation in the Antarctic site where Dr. Langkowski worked ere he tussled (as Sasquatch) with the 'merc with a mouth' must have triggered some mutation that transfigured Langkowski into this sullen beast.

AlphaScope wants to know what you think about this new Sasquatch. What's your pet theory about Sasquatch's transformation? According to Marvel, all will be revealed in Alpha Flight #6 but that's still months and months away. AlphaScope would like to give you the opportunity to publicize your theories... and they will be published in #4 of AlphaScope (December 1997) just in time for Alpha Flight #6.
