Shezerai's dinner
Welcome to the first of the Special Editions. This is where I will put different things. Such as the following story...
This happened on the 28th of October, 2001...
The blank panther sprang at her intended pray, however, the pray was leaning against the bar of the Keep's main hall and thus was facing the panther.
"ARRRGH!" said Rayce, darting out of the way. But luck was on the panther's side, and he couldn't get away in time. The panther slams into Rayce, who then sobbed, "GODSNOIDON'TWANNADIE!"
The panther lowers her head, jaws snapping, trying to get purchase on any part of the anthropomorphic raccoon. The raccoon desperately tries to escape, but only succeeds in dragging the panther along the wooden floor, leaving behind furrows from the panther's hind claws.
The panther snaps her jaws again, this time trying for the raccoon's fluffy tail. But Rayce moves away in time and all that the panther gets is a taste of air. She backs off slightly, only to slam into her pray again.
A nearby priest of Althena, Amelio, sees the commotion and tries to help the poor raccoon.
"Althena, lend me your power so that I might save this poor man from death at the hands of a fangily-mawed beast!" he cries, as he hurls a Divine Stunbolt at Shezerai, the panther. The bolt hits the huge panther in the hindquarters, but also hits the fleeing Rayce in the foot due to an odd arcing effect. Slowed, Rayce screams as Shezerai sinks a claw into his shin, which brings him down.
Seeing his effort had little effect, Amelio decides to take a more direct line of approach.
"By Althena's name, I command you to HALT immediately," he declares, pointing his quarterstaff at the panther, "Cease and desist this course of action before I render you unconscious."
Amelio waltzes over and raps Shezerai lightly on her head, while he prepares a sleep spell.
Shezerai snaps at Rayce's leg but is caused to miss by Amelio's light tap. Furious, the panther snaps at the interloper's legs. Amelio screams like a little girl and then brings his staff down to intercept the panther's maw. Shezerai catches the staff in the mouth, and bites down, tugging at it.
Rayce, seeing Shezerai briefly distracted, tries to kick the panther in the head with his free leg. He connects with the side of her head, only succeeding in angering the large cat further, who retaliates by sinking her claws deeper in Rayce's leg. He cries out and makes a grab for the nearest object, the pain causing tears to flow from his eyes, while blood flows down his leg. He grabs a barstool, but as it's quite fixed to the ground, he can't move it.
"I don't want to hurt you!" Amelio states, "Just leave him be, cease and desist." He tugs on the blessed wood in the hopes of getting it free from the panther's mouth. Shezerai suddenly lets go, and sends Amelio stumbling backward and over a stool. He clambers to his feet and sighs, "Sheesh. Being a priest is tougher than the brochures for the Temple say..."
Shezerai flexes her back claws as feeling returns to them. She digs them deeply into the flooring as she drags Rayce closer, stretching out her other fore-paw as she tries to impale his other ankle. Rayce kicks and screams, "SOMEONEHELPMEPLEAAASE!!" but his cries are of no avail as the panther snags his free ankle, which makes blood almost fountain from both wounds.
A passing Celebi hears Rayce's cries and tries to help. The bug flits down and holds Rayce's ear, and then tries to teleport him to behind the bar. He sorta succeeds, as he and Rayce are suddenly behind the bar, however, since Shezerai was also attached to Rayce, she is now behind the bar too.
Another patron of the Keep looked at this recent development with great alarm, the female mage shouted "HEY! Watch out for the booze!" Her cry of alarm alerts Amelio, who scritching his head, wondering where they all went. Amelio leaps over the bar, swinging his staff at the Celebi while demanding, "No more VIOLENCE!" He hits the pokémon sending it slamming into the back wall.
Shezerai drags Rayce closer and bites down, catching him in the back of his leg just below his knee, causing him to scream in agony. She drags her dinner around to the main area and under a table. Rayce claws frantically but the panther is too strong. "NO!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!" he screams, as a trail of his blood is left behind. He grits his teeth as he snags a chair as he passes it. Running on fear, adrenaline, and sheer panic he smashes the chair over his head which causes Shezerai to lock down with her jaws. Shez lays there stunned for a moment, and then turns around so she now lays on Rayce's back, tearing hunks of flesh from his calves in the process. By this time Rayce is delirious, and very close to death.
The female mage walks over to the scene of the carnage and kneels down by his head. She picks up his head and looks into it. "I can cut your leg off, cauterising the wound, Shez would have her happy meal," She looks at the panther, who seems to be enjoying both of Rayce's legs, the mage looks back and continues, "sorry, MEALS, and you would live. Understand?"
Rayce just cries and screams, "I DON'T WANNA DIE!!"
The mage pulls a hacksaw from her backpack. "This is going to hurt." She explains. She adds, with a gleam in eye, "A lot."
Shezerai tears out another chunk of flesh, this time from one of Rayce's thighs.
The mage looks at the panther, who is in the way of where she wants to make the cuts. "Hmm." She thinks.
Amelio, desperate to help, decides to employ the Left-Handed Suzuki Method of Panther Distraction - Catnip. "Heeeere kitty kitty kitty..." The catnip has no effect, as the panther has her nose full of the scent of blood.
The mage looks at the panther. She says in a demanding voice, "Move!" The panther turns her head slightly and looks at the interloper. The mage quickly adds, meekly, "Please?" The panther growls.
"Um... Nice kitty?" the mage replies. She rethinks her approach and moves around to Rayce's twitching left foot and proceeds to cut it off. The panther narrows her eyes as the human mage uses a blade near her claws, she tears another piece from Rayce, who has lapsed into unconsciousness.
"Althena, assist in my baiting!" petitions Amelio, as he waves the catnip.
The mage removes the foot and shoves it at the panther's nose. After making sure the panther has the scent she throws it in Amelio's direction, saying, "Fetch!"
Shezerai brings her head up and looks Amelio, then at the female mage. She takes off after the foot, blood dripping from her mouth.
Amelio, seeing a very large panther heading his way, simply mouths "Oh HELL no..."
The female mage pounces onto Rayce's back and attempts to sever his legs, before he dies. She is too late, however, and the raccoon dies.
