The next chapter in Rosetta's story.
The 12th of January, 2001...
OrionDouglas emerges from her room. Uncertain.
OrionDouglas looks worried.
OrionDouglas sits on her couch.
Lirreka takes a seat at the Ebonclaw table.
OrionDouglas nods to Lirreka and walks over.
OrionDouglas speaks tentavley. "Lirreka?"
[Lirreka] Yes?
[OrionDouglas] Your daughters Liara and Liress have been helping me fight of a creature called 'Rosetta'..
Lirreka nods to OD "I see, I recall them speaking about this being.. Rosetta you say?"
[OrionDouglas] Yes. She's almost a mirror image of the one I love.
Lirreka looks at OD "Yes, rather nasty trick that.. Almost worthy of a drow.."
[OrionDouglas] There is no way Rochelle and I can stand against her on her own so..
OrionDouglas looks frightened.
[OrionDouglas] i was wondering if you would help. If you want.
Lirreka smiles slightly at OD "I see... I would be willing to be of help.. but I Do have a price..."
OrionDouglas nods. "Yes?"
Lirreka smiles sweetly at OD "Rosetta.. dead or alive, it matters not to me.."
Rochelle steps through a wall like it were simply Opaque air....
[OrionDouglas] What is this price?
Lirreka smiles at OD "I want Rosetta, or what's left of her that is.."
Rochelle sees Orion and breathes a sigh of relief... She then notices Lirreka, raises an eyebrow, then smiles and bows respectfully to her, Japanese style.
OrionDouglas senses a familar warmth beside her and says. "Rochelle?"
Lirreka nods to Rochelle "Good eve to you."
OrionDouglas hugs Rochelle back and asks her. "What do you think of Lirreka's offer?"
Rochelle rubs the back of her head. "I didn't really catch it. I've been on edge ever since She came back..."
[OrionDouglas] Lirreka has offered to help us only if she gets what's left of Rosetta.
Rochelle thinks, then nods. "I reckon we have a deal."
OrionDouglas looks at Lirreka, and nods. "Yes."
Lirreka nods to OD and Rochelle "Excellent.. if she proves uncollarable, I'll just become more insistant.." She smiles slightly.
OrionDouglas laughs nervously.
IceWhite returns, Rosetta seated on her back.
Rosetta enters this room
IceWhite blinks at Rochelle, then looks at Rosetta. I'm guessing she's the woman?
Rochelle has her back currently turned to Rosetta and IceWhite, talking to Orion and Lirreka apparently, or thinking things out.
Rosetta nods at IceWhite, not saying anything.
IceWhite motions for Rosetta to stay mounted, and pads over to Rochelle. Excuse me.
OrionDouglas ' necklace starts glowing a faint red.
Rochelle earperks, and looks towards Ice White. She blinks, having not noticed Rosetta. "Yehep. Rochelle, Keep's Sexiest Fire Kitsune at your service, how may I help you?" She grins a little.
Lirreka looks at IceWhite then at OD "You do realize the dragon is extra.."
Rosetta suddenly adores having a draconic ally. It makes life so much simpler.
OrionDouglas snorts. She then reaches into her pouch and withdraws two fire splinters.
[IceWhite] I was just speaking with a young woman who looks remarkably like you. She informed me that you have been attacking her for no real reason.
[OrionDouglas] Rosetta has a history of hiring inept underlings.
Rochelle 's grin... shatters. ".....Rosetta...." She narrows her eyes a bit, then plants a hand on her hip, glancing off to the side and glowering a bit. "....While I was gone, she attacked my lover, the pet I left with my lover, and also made off with a friend of mine... That's why I attacked her."
[Rochelle] "I attacked her to protect those I love and care about..."
OrionDouglas turns around and looks at IceWhite.
Rochelle looks to Orion, and shakes her head. "...Not now Orion. If I can avoid combat I will..."
Rochelle looks back to Ice White.
[IceWhite] Is this true Rosetta?
OrionDouglas slowly moves to the left.
Lirreka looks at Rochelle but says nothing as she takes a sip from her goblet.
Rosetta shakes her head angrily. ~Orion attacked me first! And Jolt was a innocent casualty that I never meant to hurt. It was a wild blast of magic. And as for your friend, he's the one who I promised I'd release as soon as I went back to my castle.~
Rochelle looks at Orion, and winces... oO ( Pleaaaase.... Don't do anything rash... ) She then looks towards Rosetta, finally noticing her here.
OrionDouglas cannot hear the psychic exchange.
Rochelle can. It's kinda a "'Sister-Sister'" thing... Or at least a "Kitsune-Weapondesignedtokillkitsune" thing.
Rochelle glares at Rosetta. "You never told ME that, Sis..."
IceWhite nods slightly. It doesn't matter who attacked whom first. What does matter, is that you stop fighting.
Rochelle blinks... Then looks oddly at Ice White... as if the notion of not killing Rosetta had never crossed her mind. ... "....Whuhhh???"
[IceWhite] Violence begets violence. And I promised to protect Rosetta without causing harm to anyone else.
OrionDouglas continues moving around until she spies Rosetta. "Hello up there."
OrionDouglas would snort at that if she could hear it.
IceWhite moves into a position to make sure that Orion can't hurt Rosetta, and vice versa.
Rochelle blinks, then face palms. "...Ohhhh... boy... okay okay. WHOAH... Time out and such. Right. Here's the deal. Whatever Rosetta told you, and whatever I'm going to tell you, is probably going to be hard to beleive from you on all accounts. I wanna kill Rosetta because of what she did. She wants to kill me, ALLEDGEDLY because Orion attacked her first, and she's apparently innocent of all charges. She never once stated that Pratz'd be released."
Rosetta glares at Rochelle. ~Oh, nooo... she can't just leave me in peace. She has to try to hunt me to my home and kill me there! She'll never give up!~ Rosetta's voice can finally be heard by all in their minds. ~No longer! I refuse to let you just kill me! I Declare WAR!~ Rosetta lifts her hands slowly, as if though she's trying to lift something. From the looks of it, she looks like she's doing a wonderful version of 'Mime Lifting REALLY Heavy Rock'.
[OrionDouglas] I see you taste in lap dogs has improved.
Lirreka reviews her agreement with Rochelle and OD and notes that the not causing harm clause was not added.. so she smiles and takes a sip from her goblet.
[IceWhite] ((Orion, her thoughts are projected to all three of you.))
IceWhite snaps Rosetta with her tail, breaking her concentration.
[OrionDouglas] ((Oh. you should have stated that before hand. ))
[IceWhite] Stop that at once.
Rochelle just smirks at Rosetta. "See what I mean? Long as she's around I can't rest until I KNOW my loved ones are safe." She goes to activate her energy sword, then blinks at IceWhite's reaction.... Which causes her to stop.
Rosetta gets beat in the back with a heavy tail, and a half formed shape oozes into existance for a split moment, then fades away.
Rochelle looks aaawffully confused people. Say the words with her now... "What the fuck??"
OrionDouglas laughs. "Unfortunalty, it seems you still have trouble training them!"
[IceWhite] Orion, I am no pet of Rosetta's. I am my own being.
OrionDouglas giggles. "Better tell Rosetta that."
Rosetta glares icy daggers at IceWhite. ~You're in league with them! You're trying to keep me from what I deserve! You hate me just as much as the rest of them, don't you!~ Rosetta vanishes to reappear a short distance away from all of them.
Rochelle calls out to Rosetta. "Okay. I may not be a high and mighty kitsune... But my word is my bond. Same as yours. ... I'm willing to lay down arms, at least for now, so we can talk this out. Besides, IceWhite seems to be pretty keen on stopping us fighting, and I'm none too keen on getting someone hurt who really shouldn't b-" She then blinks as Rosetta vanishes. "....AWwwwww... bollocks."
Rochelle gives a resigned sigh. "See what I mean?"
IceWhite sighs at Rosetta. Rosetta, I am your friend.
Lirreka looks at Rochelle "Should I intervene now or not?"
[OrionDouglas] Right. Let's play.
Rochelle looks to Lirreka. "Looks like we might have to." She looks to IceWhite. "Miss? I don' know who you are, but you are a voice of reason among chaos... And for that I'm at least thankful you tried..."
[Rosetta] A icestorm blows in through the various holes in the rafters and begins assaulting the collected patrons.
[OrionDouglas] Might as well, Lirreka. Before she becomes too damaged.
[Rochelle] "But right now..." She turns her eyes towards Rosetta, and abruptly activates her Spirit Sword (think Ryoko's staff thing in Tenchi Muyo... but a sword...). "It's PLAY time...." ... And then she gets icestormed.
IceWhite holds up a paw. "Wait, Rochelle... I want to guarantee your friend's safety."
Rochelle hate Water!
IceWhite is unhurt by the storm, considering she's a Snow Dragon, and approaches Rosetta.
Rochelle phazes out with the words "...You're serious aren't you?..." She doens't fade in just yet...
Lirreka gets pelted by hail stones from the icestorm "Yes, Right..." She weaves her right hand through a series of complex gestures a concussive force missile at Rosetta.
Rochelle 's DEFINATELY hurt by the ice storm. She reappears next to Orion, wraps her arms around her, and phazes out with her too. Doesn't want Orion hurt at all.
[IceWhite] Very serious, Rochelle.
OrionDouglas screams. "Rochelle!" She dashes over and shields Rochelle from the brunt of the storm.
Rochelle 's hurt, but otherwise okay. So she's phazed out with Orion hopefully...
Rosetta catches the first part of the force missle, but the rest just... fades away, never having existed. She flutters in midair, holding a hand to her head. The icestorm slows for a moment, then rages again, colder and faster than before.
OrionDouglas gets phazed out with. She seems unsure of this.
IceWhite 's voice screams in Rosetta's head, and hers alone. Stop this at once, Rosetta!!
Lirreka grumbles raising a ward to protect herself from this ice storm..
Rochelle 's still hugging Orion. Just seems like an empty open space between places... Ever put NoClipping on in Quake 2? Think of that, without the red out. :)
Rochelle can watch IceWhite from here and Rosetta. "...I dunno what she thinks she's doing... But I pray to whatever gods exist she doesn't get hurt."
Rosetta 's psychic voice echoes through the room. ~NO! I want her DEAD! Her and all hers! And if you won't help me I'll kill YOU TOO! And my prisoner is MINE! You'll have to drag him out over my warm, dead body!~
Rochelle blinks at Rosetta. ".....Holy SHIT she's f**ked up... And.... I was... created from her?...."
Rochelle shakes her head in disbeleif almost... "...."
IceWhite rises to her hindpaws, hissing. Then so be it!!
Rochelle swears. "...Shit. No..."
Rosetta is ... sucked in to... something. The small disc behind her suddenly quadruples in side, creating a large gap in space and she is pulled through it. The gap however remains in place.
Rochelle 's torn. Between helping Ice White, and saving Pratz... And also keeping Orion safe.
IceWhite opens her fire lung (yes, she has one), and blows a stream of white hot flame at Rosetta.
Fezurel rushes in.
Rochelle phazes back in, near Lirreka. "PLease. Keep Orion Safe. I gotta do something....."
IceWhite says to Rochelle privatly, Protect Orion. I can handle this.
Fezurel charges right at IceWhite.
Rochelle speaks back to Ice White on the psychic channel so to speak. ~ I know... But trust me... She's got a friend of mine trapped... I might need your help to rescue him. I REALLY have a bad feeling about all of this... We're gonna need to work together. ~
Lirreka brings into being with a dark and malevolent chant not one but two spirals of energy swirling around each hand, Static builds around her drawn by the spinning spirals.. She looks at Rosetta and gestures hurling the spirals from her hands as one becomes a tranluscent talon crackling with fire the second spiral alters direction bringing into being a rainbow hued sphere around OD.
IceWhite roars in fury and snaps her tail at Fezurel at a speed fast enough to break the sound barrier.
Rochelle rearms her Spirit Sword.... "HEY! Ice-Cube! Come over here! Me, Lirreka and Orion need some crushed ice for our drinks and YOU'RE the target!!"
Rochelle ; Hottest Fox Girl, Largest Mouth, and Least Tact of the Keep. :)
Rochelle launches herself at Fezurel. "KAAAAMIKAZE FOX GAAAL!!" *SLICE*
OrionDouglas struggles free of whatever is holding her and stands by Rochelle's side, a red crystal dagger drawn in one hand.
Fezurel flies back, and assumes he gets sliced in some way.
Fezurel crushes several tables and chairs.
Fezurel holds up a hand, attempting to swat Rochelle away.
Rochelle does. Her sword has this ability to sorta... Yano... Cut through pretty much anything except another person's soul if it's stronger...
Rochelle rebounds off of Fez, and makes for the portal. "Orion! I'm going after Pratz and Rosetta! Stay safe PLEASE!"
OrionDouglas nods.
Lirreka flings a few acid bolts at Fezurel to judge their effectiveness.
[Rochelle] (( which means it pretty much acts like a normal sword, but full of heat energy... Much like a light sabre I guess. Or an Energy Blade. ))
[OrionDouglas] Hey! Frosty the Snowman!
Fezurel is overwhelmed...
OrionDouglas pulls another dagger out of her pouch and throws it at Fezurel. She is good with thrown daggers..
OrionDouglas doesn't wait to see if it hits or not, she makes a running dash for the portal before it closes.
in Rosetta's domain...
Rosetta is on top of the balcony of her castle. Everywhere around the castle, and as far as the eye can see in the distance are tall, wavy white opbects, which sway in the breeze and ripple in the wind. ~NO! Now you're on MY turf! And I have the upper hand here!~
Rochelle dashes in, snarling against the cold, and a flare of fire erupting around her constantly, keeping her from getting too cold... It seems ambient.
[Rochelle] "Hey SIS... You forgot one thing... And you know DAMNED well what it is I was created for! If I have to follow that part of what was set for me just to protect my friends then so be it!"
Fezurel stands in front of Rosetta.
[Fezurel] "I will not let the flames claim all I have twice!"
OrionDouglas stumbles through, panting.
[Rosetta] The cold seems to seep into everyone's souls, chilling not only their flesh but their minds as well. It's hard to think for those unprotected.
Rochelle 's protected. She was designed to be... Of course, she's not protected from her own heart, senses Orion, swears, and dashes over. "Orion!!"
[OrionDouglas] C..C..old.
Rochelle instead, dashes to Orion and wraps her arms around her, trying to keep her warm with her own ambient heat, which hasn't wavered yet.
[Rochelle] "...Orion. You shouldn't have come here... It's dangerous!"
[OrionDouglas] Let go of me! I won't stand by!
Fezurel stands stoic, like a statue.
in Rosetta's domain... ...in the matrix

Fezurel stands in front of Rosetta IceWhite howls and immediately chases after Rosetta. Upon meeting Fezurel, she lashes out with her tail, again breaking the sound barrier. Fezurel 's ready for her this time. He has his hands held out, and he attempts to grab the tail. IceWhite snarls in surprise as her tail is grabbed. She opens her fire lung and blasts a thick stream of white-hot flame at Fez. Fezurel melts a bit... But the ambient coldness of this place makes it freeze right back. Rochelle looks over at the fight, swearing. "Dammit... Orion. just hang the hell on..." Fezurel pulls on Ice. [OrionDouglas] Please Rochelle, throw some fireballs at me before I freeze! IceWhite is much too heavy to be pulled, even by an Elemental. She lashes out with her teeth and claws. Rosetta watches through the inherent powers in the place as giant snowballs fly towards Rochelle and Orion. Rochelle grimaces, then nods, scoots back, fires a largish fireball at Orion... Then gets Snowballed BIG time... Right into the ground. Fezurel doesn't seem to be phased by her teeth and claws, even though little bits of him are chipped away. He releases one hand, and attempts to bring it down right on Ice's skull. OrionDouglas gets knocked out of the way of a snowball by the fireball. It hurts, but less than it should. The crystal around her neck is glowing a dull red. IceWhite snaps her head away, and while the grip on her tail is weakened, jerks it out of Fez's grip. She changes her size, becoming the size of a swallow. She darts past Fez before becoming the size of a horse, and sprinting into the castle. OrionDouglas watches Rochelle go down. "ROCHELLE!" she screams. Rochelle pulls herself out of the snow, snarling, her firey glow lessened... ".....Gods... dammit Rosetta SHUT THE HELL UP!!" ... And with that, she sends a psychic mental blast across the airwaves, channelled by her fury, right to Rosetta.... OrionDouglas pulls a fire splinter out of her pouch and breaks it, releasing the energy into herself. Fezurel runs after Ice. [IceWhite]>[OrionDouglas] Protect Rochelle! IceWhite returns to her normal size, and begins to destroy the castle with strong blows of her mighty tail. [IceWhite] ((And head and claws)) OrionDouglas suddenly transforms into pure fire. She hovers slighty above the snowy ground, which is melting due to her heat. IceWhite is ready this time, and darts out of the way. Rosetta is hit with a psychic blast that comes not only from this dimension, where she could will it out of existance, but from many others as well. She drops out of sight into the castle, screaming, long and piercing as she goes. IceWhite smashes through the roof of the hallway, then takes flight. [OrionDouglas] Rochelle. Please. Don't let go of your anger. Think only of the anger. Fezurel sighs, "It's all ending." IceWhite follows the sound of the cries, the walls of ice nothing more than paper to her in her fury. Rochelle closes her eyes snarling, and tensing, before yelling out in fury, and launching herself forwards after Rosetta. "You damned RIGHT you better Run!!" Fezurel approaches Orion. OrionDouglas floats after Rochelle. She stops just behind her. Fezurel runs after her, then. Rosetta is hidden inside the castle. [OrionDouglas] We've done this once before. But now, focus on your rage. Please. Rochelle stops at the front of the Castle, glaring up at it. "...You hurt Orion... You hurt Jolt... You hurt Pratz... And dammit all to hell I don't care if I WAS just constructed to kill your prissy little arrogant ass! I'm going to rip your head off and play FOOTBALL with it!" Fezurel calls out to Rochelle," Destroy me! I wish to return home... Kill my Prime form!" [OrionDouglas] No time. Out of time. Gotta do it now. IceWhite follows Rosetta's thoughts, breaking through the ice of the castle. OrionDouglas merges herself into Rochelle and lets go of all but her sense of self. She stops thinking about every thing but herself. Rochelle yells and darts forwards through the openings IceWhite makes... Her single motivation... to avenge all that has been done to her loved ones... IceWhite bursts into Rosetta's throne room and lands with a heavy thud. It ends here, Rosetta. [OrionDouglas]>[Rochelle] ~ focus on the anger, not the pleasure. please ~ Fezurel falls over... "It's over, Rosetta... My friends will not be avenged... I will simply return home." Rochelle closes her eyes, then opens them again, fire and rage burning within them as she launches through next to IceWhite... "....hi Sister!!... I'm home! I brought a FRIEND with me!... Wanna come PLAY???" She seems to literally be shaking with rage... Rochelle activates her Spirit Sword, the blade this time glowing BLACK... [Rosetta] The throne room is a wide, open room inaside the castle. Gathered around the room are statues of people... the people Rosetta once loved and knew when she was human. There statues are frozen here in ice for all of time for Rosetta to look at. But the attention is on the figure on the throne. Rosetta has changed... she is no longer just like Rochelle, but is now a pure white sheet of snow shaped as a human. There are black streak running all over her, giving the apearance of a large, sooty black cobweb covering a sheet of pure white paper. IceWhite 's tail lashes behind her, her claws splayed and digging deep furrows into the floor. Steam trickles from her nostrils, showing that her fire lung is open and quite ready. OrionDouglas :: Rochelle's power level is augemented by Orion's being. :: [Fezurel] "So the Efreeti have won, and that's the end of it?" Rochelle steps forwards, actually casting ... like shadow images behind her as she moves... (( Game reference time. Like when Cloud and Sephiroth were doing that weird crap and there were those 'lagged' after images of them. :) )) [OrionDouglas] (( Like the shadow after effects during SSF super combos?)) [Rochelle] (( .. Yeah! That works too! ^.^ )) Rochelle 's eyes focus for a second... And she sees the statues.. "...?... What... Huh?" Rosetta uses a part of her power to ignore the pain. The large wavy, furred things across the face of the planet begin vanishing. She uses another part to cast a spell of power... Absolute Zero. It's cold in here now, even to HER. Fezurel jumps to his feet... Maybe it's not over. He rushes into the throne room. IceWhite finds what she was looking for and dives back into the holes she made. Rochelle , distracted, gasps as she feels the cold biting into her. She desperately tries to focus on keeping herself warm so she can finally finish Rosetta off... But it looks like a losing battle. OrionDouglas briefly gains herself and arches her head the top half of her torso out of Rochelle's back. Clearly visable is a blue-red crystal, glowing brightly. An arm of flame snatches it up and throws it at Rosetta's feet, where it explodes into a large fireball. [OrionDouglas] (( That crystal has been absorbing fire energy for a long time. )) OrionDouglas submerges back into Rochelle. Fezurel aims a punch at Rochelle. [OrionDouglas]>[Rochelle] ~ I am your warmth ~ Rochelle turns, and snarls, holding a hand up and receiving the punch, seemingly with renewed strength, barely moving as the massive impact hits her.... A second later, there's a flash, and Rochelle has somehow moved THROUGH Fezurel... ((Either Rochelle missed, or struck Fezurel at the speed of sound. :) Input BOOM after attack. )) [Rosetta] More of the objects vanish from across the surface of the planet, as can be seen from the wide windows of the palace. Rosetta actually walks THROUGH the fire, and seems to feel no pain. She looks at Rochelle, and says one simple word, carrying as much force as she can behind it. "Freeze." [Rochelle]>[OrionDouglas] ~Orion... I... I feel you... You're here... ~ Rochelle stands, then glances to Rosetta as she hears that word just after the Sonic Boom. Her only reply is... "....Make me...." Fezurel looses about 20 pounds of ice. OrionDouglas admires Fez's new diet. Fezurel kicks at Rochelle's spine. OrionDouglas flings an arm out of Rochelle, fire dagger in hand, in the exact spot Fez would have hit. Fezurel gives the dagger a big old kick... It hisses on his leg. Rochelle phazes herself and Orion out, appearing behind both Fezurel and Rosetta after that attack, narrowing her eyes and breathing hard... Fezurel throws himself at Rochelle, attempting to flatten her. Rosetta screams and charges Rochelle, the perfect embodiment of cold. Rochelle , narrows her eyes and meets the charge head on, yelling out and sending out a blast of hellfire from BOTH her hands, at point blank into her Sister. ( Fezurel rolls 1d20 => 1 ) Fezurel rolls the worst roll EVAH! [Asarnil] ((winces)) [Rochelle] (( Yooou're not singing any moooooooorrreee... =D )) Fezurel 's player just loves it when the big villian gets a natural 1 on his KillerDeathbringerBigHugeMassiveWowAttack. Rosetta staggers for a moment from the attack, and more of the waving objects vanish. There are only a few left close to the castle, now. IceWhite enters this room Pratz enters this room Fezurel shatters... He exists on this plane no longer. IceWhite blasts through the floor, holding Pratz close to her body. Fezurel exits from this room IceWhite lands easily. I have Pratz. Pratz 's form is cold and grey, along with the rest of the things on this world. Rochelle grits her teeth and gives one last command. "... Get him out of here. Make sure he's okay. He's needed...." Rochelle then charges forwards in a blaze of light, yelling out as she attacks Rosetta "Not so F**king much of a PRINCESS now ARE ya Rosey!!" IceWhite takes Pratz back to her mistress' home. Pratz exits from this room IceWhite exits from this room Rosetta simply phazes through Rochelle, attempting to freeze her solid. It's what she knows to do, after all. Rochelle did anticipate this, and grins, instead, opening what appears to be a black hole where she WAS, and phazing out... ~I know you too well...~ Rochelle actually thought of doing what Rosetta just did once. And wouldn't put it past what she was created to destroy to do something similar. And that's not really a black hole... More sort of absorbant energy. :) Rosetta is caught by the absorbent energy hole... and screams, as her energy, her freezing, wicked, cold energy, is forcibly ripped from her and pressed into Rochelle's form.... Rochelle is just a few centimeters from it, snarling as she concentrates. "I bet you're thinking how much this SUCKS HUH?!" *rimshot* :P Rochelle keeps trying to absorb Rosetta into that compact space, and the energy of her attack... OrionDouglas burns fiercely inside Rochelle, trying to stop the cold sapping her love's strength. Rosetta opens her eyes. "This is what you've always wanted...." Rosetta's voice is quiet, as if though she hasn't used it in a very long time. "Very well... take it.Take it ALL" The storm clears around the castle, and the large objects are revealed to be gigantic kitsune tails. The snow actually starts melting as Rosetta sucks every last drop of energy from the world she can in a instant and then blasts it into Rochelle. OrionDouglas :: Rochelle seems to swell slightly, and then Orion's flaming form bursts outwards, three times her usual size and standing between Rosetta and Rochelle. :: Rosetta 's form shimmers for a moment, then reforms into her normal shape, hanging, caught and fully drained, inside the hole. [OrionDouglas] We... don't.. want.. it. OrionDouglas releases all the energy, transformed into pure fire, into a stream fired at Rosetta. She shrinks as the excess energy is shot forth. [Rochelle] Lblinks... then watches Orion for a moment, before redoubling her efforts. "...No... I wanted you to stop hurting my friends. To stop hurting those I loved... YOU brought this on your SELF! You caused your OWN destruction..." Rosetta feels the fire overtake her, and although her skin will not burn, she cries in pain. ~please take it... I don't want it anymore... I've lived here 5000 years alone in a dead world and I don't want it anymore....~ Rochelle blinks... then stops. "...These statues... They're... people you cared for?....." Rochelle forcably stops Orion, panting with Effort, judging that Rosetta's suitably weakened, but lets her continue enough to keep her like that... OrionDouglas finishes purging off the excess energy. She collapses in a heap. Solid. Rochelle wraps her arms around Orion, feeling the drain in energy, and pulls her close, Protecively. "....What happened to this world?...." [Rosetta] ~These were my friends. My family. My... lovers. All here. All dead... for 500 years. And I look at them every night... and I watch their faces before I go to sleep. ... Now... I will finally be able to sleep unending, and never have to wake up to see their faces... accusing me from bringing the icestorm that killed my world....~ Rochelle blinks... Sudden realisation replacing all the anger... all the hatred and enmity... [Rochelle] "...You caused this?... How??" [Rosetta] As Rochelle looks at Rosetta, she sees it. Rosetta's eyes are black pits that show the depths of the sky within them. ~I am kitsune.~ Rochelle frowns, her own brown eyes, soulful... REAL emotions. REAL spirit and heart... Definate atmosphere music. )) [Rochelle] "...If you cared about them, why?... Why would you do this? I know about kitsunes... I was designed to act like one... You... You can feel love and emotions, right?..." Rosetta closes her eyes, shaking her head. ~No... the world died because I was kitsune. One day I wsihed for the world to be covered in a wonderful snowstorm. The fortunes saw fit to grant my wish... and ... all this... I died... I think... but whatever happened... I because kitsune.~ Rochelle frowns softly, then looks away, silent words drifting over her mind. Be careful what you wish for... I never beleived those words before... Rochelle looks back to Rosetta, her eyes taking a softer look. "....I'm... sorry.... Rosetta. I'm sorry this happened... To you... to your friends, your world... I wish... there was something I could do to bring it all back...." [Rochelle] "... But there is nothing... It's gone... It's all gone... Nothing anybody, mortal or immortal, can do..." [Rochelle] "... You and I are more alike than you think, Rosey...." [Rosetta] ~I've wished for that for every moment of every day for 5000 years... it's the only thing I can't make happen. ... I'm finished, here, and there is nothing left for me, anywhere. ... I will ask the Fortunes to let me die, now, here in my home. Perhaps now the world will regrow one day... hwen I am gone....~ Rochelle closes her eyes, and sighs gently... She kneels gently beside Rosetta. "...Rosetta... You need to rest... Just... Just sleep for now... C'mon... I'll make things better... I promise..." [Rochelle] (( Here's a side of Rochelle few people see... Orion's seen it... Rosetta gets to in her final moments... )) Rosetta sighs, and closes her eyes quietly. She breathes once... then twice... then gasps... then her body just... dissolves. She melts from the one source of heat she could never get rid of... the anguish in her heart. Rochelle close sher eyes and sighs, easing the pain as Rosetta goes... [Rochelle] "....I'm sorry... I'm... so sorry...." Rochelle 's player takes it as read that Roch takes Orion outta here, then comes back to release any and all souls trapped here to their rightful place of rest, including Rosetta's spirit, before leaving herself. [SomeLoser] ...Rochelle's player had to go do something ^.^;
Rochelle exits from this room [OrionDouglas] (( And that's a wrap! )) Rosetta player notes that when Rochelle comes back to do so..... Rosetta's sprit is nowhere to be found. It's as if she either left beforehand or never died at all. |
back in the Keep, in Orion's quarters...
Rochelle , having carried Orion back to their room, seems uneasy... Not just for her lover, but also for everything... Rosetta was now dead... Why did she feel so empty?... What she had worked so hard to do, to protect Orion, to avenge Jolt, to save Pratz, and to protect the others of the Keep.... Was done... And yet still, she felt so empty and sorrowful inside... Those final last words of Rosetta still rang in her head... "...End this. I don't want to live like this any more...".... She slowly looked skywards, in the all encompassing darkness of the room .... ".....Sister... Please forgive me... I... I wish I had known you... I wish we could have been friends... I wish... I..."... She shook her head, looking down... Something wet fell on her palm... Tears... She was crying?... She hadn't ever cried over something like this... What WAS this she was feeling?...
OrionDouglas is placed unconsious upon her bed.
Rochelle looked at her palms... This felt wrong... She felt unclean... Rosetta's blood was on her hands... It wasn't REALLY there... but it felt like it... And Orion had been hurt... Because of her... This had all gone so horribly wrong..... Realisation snapped into place... "... No... This didn't go wrong... It went right... for Arc... He wanted this to happen... But WHY send me to kill Rosetta??..."
[OrionDouglas] ((ODie's not really hurt, just overloaded. She was carrying a lot of energy briefly, then.))
Rochelle looks over at Orion gently biting her lower lip... She reaches over, softly brushing her lover's hair away from her face. "...Oh Orion... What have I done...?"
Rochelle sighs, softly wrapping her arms around her lover and shivering. "Oh gods... Please... Please don't leave me..." She concentrates, feeding Orion energy gently and slowly to try and help her recover
OrionDouglas :: The energy Rochelle feeds into Orion replaces that which was lost when she blasted at Rosetta. That final blast took part of her own energy, in addition to the energy she reflected. ::
OrionDouglas stirs slightly.
Rochelle slowly calms her breathing as she continues feeding enough energy to make it possible for her to continue recovering naturally and safely.
OrionDouglas open her eyes and coughs.
OrionDouglas is slightly disoriented.
[OrionDouglas] Rochelle?
Rochelle opens her eyes, then looks to Orion's, smiling soflty. "... Yeah... it's me. It's over... Rosetta's ... she's...." She sighs. "....She's dead..."
[Rochelle] "...She's finally been released from her torment..."
[Rochelle] "...Rest love... You need to sleep and recover... You've had a hard time of it..."
OrionDouglas nods, and motions that she needs a hug.
Rochelle smiles, and willingly holds Orion to her, closely, and warmly, laying gently beside her...
[OrionDouglas] I don't want to lose you. That's why I entered that portal...
Rochelle closes her eyes, more tears forming. "...And I didn't want to lose you, beloved... But it's okay.. It's over now..."
OrionDouglas nods again, and closes her eyes to sleep. To rest. Once again in the arms of her love after so long..
Rochelle smiles soflty, and closes her eyes, relaxing next to her beloved... and finally getting a good night's sleep... Dr. Arc can wait for now...
