Tessenderlo is a fine village with 15.000 inhabitants and a lot of interesting touristic attractions as well as industrial activities. Nervertheless, we still have a lot of scenic trails, giving easy acces to the other villages in the neighborhood by bycicle, car or walking. From the cultural point of view you should visit the center with St. Martin's church and the vicarage, both build in typical regional sandstone. The "Tiendenschuur" was used in anciant times to collect the taxes in the form of part of the harvest. In Engsbergen the St. Lucia church has a nice rococo interior. The cultural center "Het Loo" with multifunctional facilities, was build on the Fish Market. That is the place where art expositions, theatre as well as concerts have found a home.
