Khanqueror of Mankind

Heroes: Jag, Atobe Keigo, Pacci, Dust, and Lord Flash
Enemies: Draven of Stormwind, and Genghis Khan, Emperor of Mankind

Jag – Officer’s Dispatch 35

Recent Duties: Hah: just as you suspected! Without your guiding influence, everything just falls into chaos and disorder. You've heard reports that this town of Transistor has been ravaged by biker gangs, had its phone lines cut and even has trolls living under the bridge. Clearly, neither “supreme commander” Pacci nor Atobe Keigo is qualified to keep things in hand. But now they'd better all watch out, because there are sharks in the waters...

Troop Status

-Supplies: Schmitzer SMGs, Armored Flak Vests, Deluxe Laywers’ suits, and briefcases full of legal documents.

-Morale: The Shark Pack is not pleased with the way these other troops have been running the show. The recent displays in this city have been nothing short of barbaric, and as usual, it's up to you to clean up the mess.

-Health: Doddering Shellback was very nearly sent into a coma when that irresponsible Major Lanver rammed right through his checkpoint barricade. Major or not, he's certainly going to be hearing from you about that!

Military Communiques

-The time has finally come to put an end to all this barbarism, and rightly so. You've been told that Kilant and Gol Draam are in the process of encircling Genghis Khan's stronghold in the city of Brooklyn. You and your forces are to stand pat for now and guard Transistor and its bridge as one of the few possible escape routes across the Crystal River.

-Major Vanbaal has informed you that all of the recent events around Transistor and Oeila are to remain confidential. Unfortunately, somehow those damn Deksiilan hippies have already found out about some of them anyway. While you certainly didn't approve of the summary execution of those Auxiliary traitors, someone's got to run damage control for the army here.

Personal Notes

-By the way: Genghis Khan was recently sighted in this very town! He sent his Mongol riders to kill you, you know. But it doesn't matter now, he still doesn't have the beryllium sphere, and besides – he must know Jag is gonna stop him.

-Mighty MEGALODON demands appeasement!! Although you and your troops have reached something of a tacit agreement with the great shark, he still demands to be fed. You sure hope this town has enough fresh meat to satisfy his mighty hunger.

-As an astute, educated man, the recent Spheran activity has you a little confused. Their sudden attack on the village and just as sudden withdrawal seemed to serve no purpose. You have to wonder just what the Storm-Lady's game is.

Mini-Objective

-Defend the military from allegations of prisoner brutality.

-Obtain sufficient quantities of food for MEGALODON.

Atobe Keigo – Officer’s Report 35

Recent Duties: There's no doubt about it – this planet is being over-run by foreigners and quite frankly, you're sick of it. You may not agree about a Fenixan like Vanbaal being in charge, but at least he has the right idea in dealing with traitors. Well, foreign traitors anyway, since sometimes exceptions need to be made for certain matriarchal figures.

Troop Status

-Supplies: FLAME-THROWERS, crimson uniforms, kamikaze headbands, Crimson Armor of the Republic, and your original Coca-Cola hat.

-Morale: Your boys continue to act like belligerent teen-agers. It's not so much that you mind whatever it is they're doing, but merely their disregard of your authority. You consider yourself a, uhh, benevolent-ish dictator and can't believe this is how they repay you. Kids these days are just so ungrateful.

-Health: Like most surly kids, your boys have developed a considerable appetite, almost enough to rival the Pac. Watching them eat so much is even making YOU hungry...

Military Communiques

-Thankfully, at the moment you and your troops are remaining on stand-by in Transistor. You've heard that Kilant and Gol Draam are leading their forces to finish off Genghis Khan once and for all before he acquires any more weapons of mass destruction. Much as you respect Kilant, you're somewhat dubious of his chances. After all, surely only someone with your unique abilities and inevitable greatness is destined to defeat the Khan. It's time the barbarians were cleared from this planet, and he's the biggest barbarian of them all.

Personal Notes

-Somehow, you knew that Genghis Khan was hiding out in this town. It's almost as though you could sense it. Clearly, this can only be due to your latent psychic abilities, which you've recently decided you must have. Why, when you were a little girl, with your cousin Harry you could pick the thoughts right out of his head before he even said a word! Or at least, he'd certainly agree that you could after you whapped him on the head with your racquet a time or two.

-1st Lt. Ivy is also rather interested in seeing this planet cleansed of the Khan and his revolting barbarians. You heard her say she was going out to make some people talk. You can't imagine that would be a pleasant experience.

-Lady Feyne is sure to be interested that Khaurus Vanbaal himself is here. You're certainly going to have to keep an eye out on that one...

-It's the strangest thing, but you have this sudden craving for Peking Duck. Of course, after the way you spoke down to those Chinese street-vendors, there's no way you could admit this to them, but there has to be a way to satisfy your appetite nonetheless.

Mini-Objective

-Demonstrate your so-called psychic abilities as many times as possible.

-Satisfy your sudden craving for Peking Duck.

Pacci – supreme Commander’s Report 27

Recent Duties: Pac pac pac!! While the other commanders seem satisfied with the job done in the village, they don't seem to realize that the real threat, Dr. Wily, has escaped to fight another day. You're not quite sure what happened to his crazy beryllium sphere, but surely at the very least he's got more evil robots waiting to take over the world.

Troop Status

-Supplies: PK-33 Handguns, SIR Rifles, Bright Yellow Deluxe Uniforms, Combat Helmets, a Verizon wireless cell-phone, an amazing vintage Pacman arcade machine, and Protoman’s whistle.

-Morale: The Pac is quite satisfied at all the delicious food available in this town. Their only complaint is that the surly teenagers from Seigaku are eating too much of it!! How are they supposed to become cool and powerful like you without getting enough to eat?

-Health: While the Pac is complaining a little about other people eating their food, you're more concerned about the health of General Quacci. There seem to have been quite a few people talking about eating ducks around this town, which is a decidedly dangerous habit.

Military Communiques

-As usual, your communiques quite outrage you. You've heard that Gol Draam and his Conventionals are moving out against the Khan, but you weren't consulted about this plan and haven't been told the details. Find Khan and you find Wily, you bet. As such, you demand to be let in on this loop.

Personal Notes

-You can't believe those belligerent kids from Seigaku! Using the equipment of a SUPREME COMMANDER for bowling, of all things! Keigo really needs to do something to keep her troops in line, clearly she has no authority, not like you do.

-You wonder what happened to the beryllium sphere, which Dr. Wily was trying to deliver to the Khan. You never did find it in Metal-Man's garage. If it did indeed reach its destination, it would surely spell trouble for all of you. Genghis Khan may not be quite as evil as Dr. Wily, but his refusal to acknowledge your rice-eating victory puts him pretty close. Clearly, someone has got to stop this evil duo. Wakka wakka!!

Mini-Objective

-Discourage the consumption of duck throughout the village.

-Discover the details of the plan to attack the Khan, and complain about not being consulted about it.

Dust – Officer’s Report 30

Recent Duties: For the love of Mike! Not only do you have trolls under the bridge and loud, rampaging bikers scaring your men, but now there's even sharks in the water. And you know all too well just what the Boyos think of fights with wild animals. Although for health reasons you would never do so yourself, you admit that having such animals cooked up extra crispy is a much better use for them than letting them savage you in the wild.

Troop Status

-Supplies: SIR Rifles, Camouflage Scout Uniforms, Sniper Scopes, Rifle Tripods, Field Mortars, Climbing Spikes, and a whole box o’ good luck in the form of Fortune Flakes cereal.

-Morale: What's this with everybody else taking on animal mascots? Pacci has his duck, Keigo her flame-throwing lizard and now Jag seems to have taken on a giant SHARK! Naturally, your Boyos are scared stiff of all these animals, and have been heard to remark that the only good use for such beasts is to be coated with 12 secret herbs and spices and served with a side-order of Denchulli-fried potatoes.

-Health: Despite what initially seemed to be a considerable number of restaurants in this town, your Boyos have been complaining that between all those gluttons from the Pac and Seigaku, they haven't been able to get into them. If only they had their own franchise at which to satisfy their hunger.

Military Communiques

-You're happy to see as little action as you can for your Boyos for the next little while. Thankfully, you've been ordered to stand pat in Transistor for a while. You've heard Gol Draam has a large force on the move and is heading for the city of Scion, you're just glad not to be part of it.

Personal Notes

-With both a little time on your hands and the Boyos unable to get into the local restaurants, you believe that the time has come at last to fulfill your duties as chairman of the Fredo Foundation. That's right – the town of Transistor will be home to the very first Kentucky Fried Parrot restaurant. You're sure that being an enterprising restauranteur will have its challenges, and you're convinced you're up to the task.

-Of course, opening KFP is definitely going to take supplies and capital, the most important of which are of course a location, a supply of food and a means of cooking said food. After which of course comes the labor. Still, with hard work you're sure you can have something up by the end of the day.

Mini-Objective

-Open up the world's first KFP restaurant franchise.

Lord Flash – Officer’s Report 13

Recent Duties: This just in: FLASH is GOD!! Of course, that ought to be no surprise for anyone who's actually been following the news lately. Which clearly this Vanbaal and anyone else who thinks they're in charge here haven't been. They just might need a reminder of all the great things you've done for this universe. Fortunately, the Church of Flash is usually MORE than willing to provide.

Military Communiques

-Your ghost has been slacking off on the job!! He was supposed to have your paper-work in to Admiral Tubby by today. You've promised the Admiral to give that phantasm a talking-to as soon as you get back to base. Which, as you've hinted rather strongly, would be much sooner if he gave you a plane.

-On that note, Tubby is rather confused and upset about the loss of your Spitfire. He apparently knew it was a mistake to committ you too soon. This hasn't stopped you from lobbying heavily for a new one.

Personal Notes

-Tubby isn't the only one concerned about your plane. Your Uwok followers are getting a little confused that everytime they see your 'Solar Chariot' go up in the air, it usually comes down again rather quickly. You'll have to come up with some kind of meta-physical explanation to put their concerns to rest.

-Some people around here just don't know how to show respect! And what with all the summary executions that have gone on, it's almost as if they've forgotten that you created mercy!! Well then, this might in fact be a good time to remind them. And they'd better listen and listen good, or else they could end up with a faceful of something else you've created called WAAAFF!

-Grateful for their liberation, the people of this town have told you that they were previously under the control of the evil Genghis Khan, who has been known to refer to himself as 'the Power of God on Earth.' Clearly somebody's getting a little delusional here. There's only one God on THIS earth, and He has a name: FLASH!!

Mini-Objective

-Explain to the Uwoks how your Solar Chariot always comes down so quickly whenever it goes into the air.

-Prove to everybody around that as the Sun-God, you invented mercy!

-Discredit the belief of Genghis Khan as the Power of God on Earth, and the Emperor of Mankind.

Adventure Summary

The curtain opened with Dust sitting on a fencepost, keeping watch -- mostly on Seamus, who "volunteered" to share the watch-shift with the Denchuli Lieutenant, and who was now thumping his lead-pipe against his hand menacingly.

Apart from a few small disturbances, including Pacci and Keigo attempting to corral their respective units, the night seemed pretty normal. But then, the weather began to get darker: clouds gathered, and a heavy rain began to fall. Dust didn't like this, and went to gather Flash, the only other officer around.

The two headed towards a church tower. Dust thought it was to get a better view of the surroundings, but Flash was using the tower, and Dust's binoculars, as an enterprising way of looking down young women's shirts. Eventually, Dust managed to wrestle away the binoculars, and look around the sky. The brewing storm was obscuring the night sky, though eventually, the heat signature of a ship could be seen coming in from the east. As it approached, the two could see that it was certainly not Electran -- as they suspected, the Spheran House of Stormwind had arrived.

The two set up near the large river partitioning the city of Transistor. Dust and his Boyo Scouts set up alongside the few units still around: Uwoks of many different sorts. Facing them were the units of Lord Brontus and Lady Draven, as well as a unit of Stormwind Sorcerors.

The heroes of the Republic fought hard and well, but were overwhelmed by the sheer strength of their opposition. Draven kept the loggers and spearmen busy, while the Sorcerors and Slingers exchanged blows, and Brontus beat down on the Boyo Scouts. But as things began to look increasingly bleak, a pack of sharks came down the river: specifically, the Shark Pack on jet skis, and Megalodon. They went into a feeding frenzy, decimating the Sorcerors that had been hovering over the water. This allowed the group to concentrate their efforts on Brontus and Draven. The two Spheran leaders, not liking this situation at all, retreated into the night.

Meanwhile, Keigo and Pacci found themselves in the river, having chased their units in the pitch blackness. Surging along, Pacci tried to grab a handful of reeds, but lost his hand-hold when he got hungry and started eating them instead. Further downstream, he tried to grab a branch, and was instead grabbed by a hand -- a heavy, gauntleted hand that dragged both he and Keigo from the river. In front of them were the two Stormwind leaders, looking none too happy to see them. But informing them that it would not be right to kill them "first," as Lady Draven put it, the two Stormwinds boarded their ship with their units, and took off into the night.
Later, with all the units having met up, the heroes were met by Mjr. Khaurus Vanbaal, who had learned of the capture of Krog and Bearhug. He demanded that as traitors, they should be executed. While Keigo was particularly taken by this idea, Jag and Pacci argued that they should at least be given the benefit of a trial. Dust, having his own ideas, left, executed the prisoners, and returned. The other PCs, save Keigo, didn't seem too pleased, but Vanbaal seemed content that at least one of the officers was ready to follow his orders.

With the grim execution out of the way, there was a bit of time for training. In addition, Vanbaal told them that supplies had just arrived, and thus they could also buy any equipment they deemed necessary.

Dust and Pacci were both eager to enlist the Major to train their men. Dust, playing on the fact that he was the only one who had followed Vanbaal's orders, was eventually able to secure the services of the sniper-captain, who taught Dust's Boyos how to use the X-3 sniper rifles. The Denchuli then enlisted the help of the Bank of Jag, who lent him the remainder of the money he needed to buy the rifles. The other officers attempted to train their men, to varying degrees of success.

With training done, the officers had other business to attend to. Jag went throughout the city, trying to find as much food as possible to try to settle Megalodon down. Tossing in roast beef from The Cobalt Club, a hundred-kilo sack of potatoes from Dust, fruit from Pacci, as well as numerous other foods, Jag fed the rampaging Megalodon. The food didn't seem to pacify him, but little could.

Meanwhile, Dust started preparations for opening the first Kentucky-Fried Parrot restaurant. Getting Flash's approval for opening it in the church, he set about securing the use of Flammie for cooking the bird, and the Pac and Boyo Scouts to work it (in exchange for free food).

The group then went to Chinatown, but not before hearing Axen Dread come roaring in on his motorcycle. Dust, fearing for his proverbial bacon, made a break for it, but not before Dread roared up and duo-striked the Denchuli with his bike. The power of the blow knocked the man unconscious, and when he came to, Dread was gone. Dust then limped his way into Chinatown, where Jag, Pacci and Keigo were arguing over the sale of ducks. Pacci wanted the barbaric practice to stop, while Jag wanted the ducks for Megalodon, and Keigo simply wanted to try Peking Duck. Jag managed to get most of the ducks later on, and Keigo had to turn to the Chinese restaurant, soon to be closed (as the Khan was their best customer) for her fix of Peking duck. While she tucked into her duck, Dust and the Boyos looted the kitchen for cooking supplies and equipment for KFP, and headed back to the church.

During all this, Flash was malcontent. It seemed that this Khan fellow was calling himself "God on Earth" or something like that, and that had to stop. To prove himself, Flash set up a large advertising campaign, including posters on Megalodon, as well as a number of other attempts to play down the Khan and play up himself.

With all this done, an urgent call came over the radio. Vanbaal told them to report back immediately. Arriving back, they videoconferenced with Kilant, who told them that the Khan must have hypnotized the entire army - his forces were not where they knew them to be, but were in fact marching against Electra City as he was speaking! They, being the closest, would come to the defense of the senate, where its guards were in the thick of things against a number of mongols. The remaining units of Karsh, Ivy, Rodrick, and others would assault the main Mongol force at the front gate.

The fight for the senate was fierce. The guards skirmished with mongol enforcers, while the Boyos, the Shark Pack, Seigaku, the Pac, and Flash's Uwok Spearmen attacked the remainder. In the end, the guards ended up fighting alone on the steps, able to hold off their attackers while the rest of the Republic's army fought from lower ground.

With the senate defended, and the gate taken, the heroes and a number of sergeants then set about entering the Monolith itself to face the Khan. Arriving at the top floor, they entered a large hall, where they found the Khan sitting on a throne. Before they could react, he hit a button, sending the floor tilting and whirling. They attacked as best they could, though the Khan released the purba which struck at the heroes with deadly efficiency. In the end, all the heroes fell, Keigo and Stenda last of all, and the Khan stood in victory. But then, a bullet ripped through the glass windows, striking him in the center of the forehead before he plummeted to the base's water system below, where Megalodon waited in anticipation.

With the defeat of the Khan, his mongols scattered, afraid. But Rodrick cried out that the Republic would have no mercy for them, and that they should follow him. And with that, the Auxilliaries departed under his leadership, leaving the city battered, but still in the hands of the Republic.
