Tiberium Sun




One of the most under-rated games of this year, I think that Tiberium Sun is just "misunderstood." Its an excellent game, but the innovation is missing. For all of you fellow C&C addicts you will have a fun time, for the rest you'll experience a great game that is worth your money. I'll divide the strategies in three sections: General, Gdi, and Nod.



General Strategies


If there is a massive new technique you need to learn in the C&C universe, its economy. The tiberium refinery system is greatly improved in this edition, and the credits will roll quite easily into your bank account. This means that you should build up to three refineries! Supply them with two ore trucks each! This does not mean to divert all of your funds to this, spread your time building your base between defense and economy. I found that by building units at the same time as I furnished my economy, I could adequately defend my base against even some of the most organized assaults. Units are important to the early base! Units can spread out to intercept and neutrilize any threat around your developing base. This is why you build units first! After all of your refineries and units are up, produce base defenses and walls. God willing you wont need em, but there is nothing like a good concrete barrier to prevent base rushes and apc raids. Defenses also prevent the majority of the nod strategies, which is always a big plus. Finally, produce offensive units to only two of the three philosophies: stealth, diversion, and assault! If you go for all three your gonna just waste tiberium, and besides it'll waste offensive time too. These strategies, keep in mind, are very broad!



GDI



GDI lacks stealth. They lumber across the battlefield leaving nothing in their paths. Unfortunatly when you find the gdi base (how can you miss it) you'll occasionally find it easier to destroy than the nod base. 1
