MegaTokyo is perfect otaku fare for l33t and lamers alike.
Penny Arcade is about two gamers... with wives. All gamers know that this has to be based solidly on fantasy (sad thing is, the characters are based on real people with real relationships... even if the actions break the fourth wall...)
Real Life is another comic for gamers (supposedly) based on real life... yet the main character has a cute girlfriend... who also games... I need to move to a different town...
PVP, or Player Vs. Player, is based on the staff of a computer gaming magazine... yet again with the unrealistically beautiful hand-drawn representation of a beautiful woman... this has got to be a recurring theme, but I have yet to understand why...
Exploitation Now is another one not intended for children (are any of them?). This one, unlike many, is entirely in a realm of pure fantasy.
RPG World is one that puts a character or two with real-world sensibility into the environment of a console rpg. Absolutely delightful... Diane's hot, too.
Dork Tower focuses more on the life of the card-flopping, dice-chucking type of gamer than on computer gaming. Like the kind that has to give up dating and food to afford that Warhammer 40k model to complete his army, not Vegas... argh, you people make me sick.
Nodwick is based on characters in a fantasy setting. If you've ever played Dungeons and Dragons, you'll understand.
Ozy and Millie is absolutely fantastic. I have to admit that it reminds me at times of Calvin and Hobbes...
8-bit Theatre!! A delectable homage to the first of the great Final Fantasy series.
Adventurers is yet another that I was pulled to by way of Tycho from Penny Arcade... I honestly wish I knew where this obsession for webcomics of mine came from... probably because I hate when newpaper ink gets all over everything.
Return to Sender reminds me a little of a show from several years ago... However, the comic is young and has yet to explain *anything*.
Bobbins has hot women. That's not all that a good comic requires, but if it were, this one would have it in spades. So it's not just the hot women, it's funny, too.
Scary-Go-Round, John Allison's spin-off comic from Bobbins, is clever and witty and up-to-date. All the things that I am not.
Goats is one of many with talking animals. Goats is one of few that is not insufferable because of that fact.
Something Positive has the funniest (only) elastic kitty ever. Just found it recently (03/25/02), and I have to say, I am in love. If you check the archives, read them all in order to get the maximum effect from Choo-Choo Bear.
Sinfest has Slick and Monique... if only Monique were a real woman... *dreamy sigh*
have you noticed a motif in the things that I happen to notice about some of these comic strips? Good, because I hadn't either.
Humor Sites:
PikaBitches, an anime music video done to Mindless Self Indulgence's wonderful song "Bitches". Definitely not for children... but is anything anymore? Since the original link to the video seems to not be working, and I can't find it on the bratshatemusic.com site, you can find it at Otaku Vengeance, just hit the OV amv link, and it'll be under Eric's section (Pokemon).
TheSpark is one of the greatest things to happen to my internet routine. Check out the Sparkive for Christian Rudder's How-To's.
www.ILoveBacon.com actually has nothing to do with bacon, as you might think, and has many intriguing photos of strange things from all over...
Miscellany:
Fark.com is one of the few news sites I can handle visiting daily... almost hourly.. once you've checked it out, you'll never be the same, cursing my name while you are unable to leave your computer... um...
Anyway, DDR East Invasion is a site dedicated to those infernal music games by Konami and the like.. Dance Freaks/Dance ManiaX would be my favorite right now. The site has a list of all the the music that each game has, as well. Excellent reference if you enjoy 200 bpm techno.
Stickdeath.com is a perfect stress reliever, if simply clicking doesn't quite "do it" for you.
Bunny Sneezes has a wonderful set of digital paper dolls... which, for some reason unbeknownst to me, I find absolutely fascinating...
