Recently, I was in Portland, the one in my home state of Oregon, and my sister showed us (Mom + me) this place called The Grotto. It's a very tranquil place set up at the base and top of a cliff face featuring Catholic statuary, some lovely gardens, and a monastery. The two pictures I got worth keeping (I curse my lack of f-stop-wangling skillz) are this cool, blurry one and this gorgeous waterfall.

There's a new one of me.

In Ladd's Addition (I think I remembered how to spell that correctly) they have to innoculate the elm trees against Dutch Elm Disease annually and it costs some crazy amount like $160 per tree. Eek. So the residents there were having a community yard sale at the time we were there (this is still on the Portland trip, remember). I got to wander around some really beautiful houses, and saw this clever thing.

I've removed a few pictures here until such a time that I can take some that please the subjects a bit more. I'm only bitter because, right now, it seems that I may never have the opportunity.

I took this one in London in 1993.

This was taken in the London Zoo on the same trip.

I have now replaced the horrible old picture with grainy, slightly better pics. Enjoy.
New!
