As for the creators and their abuse of th power i'm suprised that they don't just make the xp so hard to get that we all gain levels every once in awhile, the new system of where you sit and txp is a good one although it seems to not incorpirate magic and combat txp, why is it that priests get all the better bonus' for sitting in CK and healing? Plus the only reason Harlock seems to talk openly about his banishment is cause he don't want anyone to know the truth that is he was an ass with that character and that other creators were sick and tired of being abused and annoyed by that retard

Heyya...I've been reading up on the last few posts and wow, there are a bunch of people that don't like Harlock around here... Now I'll be first to admit when I was a player, I used the Bicklesnits and killed them a lot and got a lot of xp from them, until Harlock jumped in and shot me down and said that I was cheating by using them. Personally, while they were pretty good xp (l ke 300k total maybe) I thought it was okay because I saw playtesters and everyone killing them. I got really angry when he busted me and got angry at me. Anyway, I got over it quick, apologized, and mailed him a few ideas and he fixed it. We started talking again, and a few weeks later he agreed to act as a reference on my cre app. Seriously, if you guys maybe acted a little more open and gave the guy a chance, he's really cool. He's done a _lot_ of work, including nearly the entire chaos tower, sure say it's overpowered and complain when it's not...and if you think it is then fr aking join it. It's an awesome guild, and has the more work done on it than any other guild in game (thieves guild coming in a close second btw). So maybe you've had a few bad experiences with the guy. So what, maybe if you just got over them and didn't go into a lifelong "all the cre's on New Moon suck" mode then they wouldn't be so eager to dragon/suspend you guys. When you begin talking abou the size of someone's penis on a board it's not a good way to get on their good side, trust me. Jack, hey, your a thief that's had some bad experiences. But if you just shut off and declare war on the cre's, we're gonna win :P Just try to stay open, and realize this is A) just a game and B) not just made so you can reach level 300 in 5 days (whi h I can still do in most guilds BTW) We're trying to make this game as realistic as possible, and when you people say "But what about this!?!? It's not realistic!" then it's time to use the "idea" command ;) Cya on the moon, DreaMa

Oh let's have a little sympathy for that poor guy Harlock. Let's face it - he is one of those guys who can't have fun without thinking that he is bigger and better than the people he is surrounded by. And only way he can feel that way is to be an asshole, as in Malius and Grunty's case. I just bet he sits at home with a big erection wearing a 'I am the boss' badge, while he intimidates and plays god on chat towards players who actually can think for themselves and don't share his opinions. His behavior is so typical for a man with a small penis, who has nothing else to show off than his 'titles' and so called authority. but then again, thats just my opinion :)

Malius, I read your page with Harlock's post. I've had a similar lesson in the way Harlock treats players have succeeded in playing the game too well for his liking. A couple of weeks ago, I hired three troll escorts which I took on the ferry to the Island with me. I used them to kill the lich, and after I did that I continued using them as pack-mules to carry my stuff while I was fighting pirates. Suddenly, Harlock appeared and destroyed my trolls (a 12-plat investment), along with all my stuff that they were carrying. On top of that, Harlock accused me, as he accused you, of cheating. It was one of those "you should have known" kind of accusations. In this case, what I "should have known" was that troll escorts weren't supposed to be used for a long time (until the n xt mud crash or shutdown, i.e. for hours). I "should have known" that this was a bug that I was exploiting. What "should have" told me this was the necessity to renew the contracts of mercenaries hired at the League of Warriors. The way Harlock put it, I wasn't merely someone who, faced with two alternative providers of escort service, opted for the cheaper and better overall -- oh no, I was a cheater. Nevermind that the longevity of Pantheon Escorts was no secret from anybody, ertainly not to creators. Nevermind that lots of other players had been using the escorts for a long time before I took to the idea myself. I was a "cheater" because I acted on a preference and selected the more advantageous of two choices. Does anyone know why Harlock behaves in this way?

okay, i've been playing on NM for a while, and over-all, it's a fabulous guild, but i only have one complaint... There really isn't much of anything for medium-level evil people to kill. There are no good npc's to thrive on. I killed some Cymocians the ot er day for some pretty good xp, but even getting into the guild all depends on one spell. Not even the definite chance for combat, let alone xp. Are there some locations i'm just not considering? I'd appreciate some input into this matter... I'm just plai confused :(

OK! here i go. I am pissed off i got suspended and nobody can tell me why. the nearest explanation that i have gotten was that pion when suspendo crazy and suspended everyone on the IP that he was on. now i am not sure if that is right or not but i am pr tty ticked off because if that is true i wouldn't mind having a few words in person with pion. i would speak my mind + some more. now all i want is to find out why i was suspended. that is really simple. so can someone tell "o god" pion to email me a.s.a p. before i go bannanas. i also think that NM is going to the pits it is crashing more often and stayiong down for days at a time because supposedly Bannor is out of town and nobody else can fix the problem! why is it that bannor goes out of town whenever the mud crashes???? coincidence i think not. Now I have not done anything wrong but I hear through the grape vine that I probably have been suspended becau e of something that Digdug has done. Now how much more stupid can things get on New Moon? I have talked to this Digdug guy maybe once. I know nothing about him nor do I participate in illegal actions on the mud. I think that the admin on New Moon is w y out of line on this one and I call all other people that have been suspended as I have to voice there opinions on this issue. I wonder if this is a new stategy to improve player/cre relations. If so you guys are off to a great start!

As far as cre/player interaction, that's a hard topic, both "sides" get frustrated with one another and things seem to escalate and get worse, not better. So, what do we do to get things better? The players say keep the cres from being mean, the cres sa keep the players from being mean. Hmmm. Doesn't seem there's an easy solution that we can just switch on to make things all pretty. Having seen other muds (I'm also cre on a mud larger than NM), I think that NM's balance works pretty well, but of cour e we have extremists on both sides (although I would argue there are more extreme players than extreme cres). Personally, I'm trying to work on and with people who are spending time positively... players and cres who are trying to make positive construc ive impact. I don't think there's an easy solution, that's for sure, but I don't think that anything is gonna get any better with the way people (on both sides) are handling things now. SO... what are some suggestions? How's it get better?

Well, when i was still a player, i barely read the boards at all, and so was not really aware much of what changes were being made, ideas proposed, or of the amount of complaining. any ideas i had, i used the "idea" command, same with bugs and typos. whe i became i creator, i was very surprised at just how much some people complain, and at times it becomes very grating on the nerves. and i've been lucky, having had none of my code directly critisized by players. sometimes it's hard to keep track of how any players there are that actually don't complain at all, in fact, i'm sure those players out-number the constant complainers by quite a bit. heh, of course, those are the quiet ones. hmm, btw, anyone interested on working (coding) on a new area of the orest type? just complete the requirements needed to apply for cre, then come talk to me. ;) (recruiting? whats that? me?? i would never! ;) ). see ya on the moon. :)

Well Jorge I here where you are coming from. Sometimes there is a little too much complaining. BUT, I do have to disagree with your statement that there is no appreciation shown. I have read many of posting stating how much people love the mud. If you look closely Trippy did in fact compliment the mud in a round about manner. I think that the problem stems from some (no names mentioned) creators that step over the line. You people do work hard and the code is amazing but you will not have people sacr ficing the sacred lamb for you. I think there should be a cre-mortal interaction policy created to not only keep mortals in line but also some of the out of control creators. This would make mudding a little more enjoyable on NM and a little less confro tational.

hehe, imagine... people posting on this board othar than me and malius :) i'm amazed. anyway, i retired 'cause the guild i was in is the worst one in-game. cres hate it. players hate it. xp is being siphoned off. it's a fun guild to play, and i enjoyed my stay there, but people just got to me, so i stopped. i'm still around though. i have one, maybe two chars i still use ;) all the ones you know are retired, but it'd be nice to see if you can find me. oh, and to 'add to the madness', don't knock sesame str et. big bird taught me everything i ever needed to know :P
