A simple rundown of what I am:

I am a Christian. No, that doesn't mean I think I'm better than you. I'm not egotistical, bash-you-over-the-head judgmental, or any other negative stereotypes you may have of Christians. All I have (and all I need) is a personal relationship with the only One who has never let me down, and who's always there for me.

I am not a blind follower of the lemming-like horde that is my generation. I don't trudge mindlessly about my business and expect to get by because I'm like everyone else. If I'm not a thinking person, I might as well be dead. I take a logical viewpoint on a great many facets of life, and will happily review my views on a subject if a sound, logical argument against them is presented to me.

I am straight-edge, or sXe for short. Straight-edge is a lifestyle choice defined by avoiding self-destructive behavior. Drinking, smoking, drugs, casual sex, all of these can contribute to an individual gradually destroying their body, and sXe strives to avoid this. Lately, I have also begun striving to become straight-edge in my attitudes and overall behavior as well; a bad attitude will damage your life as much as cigarettes and booze can, or more. I view this straight-edge "totality" as part of my Christian beliefs, because most of the behaviors and attitudes I'm shooting for are what God calls me to be anyway.

Punk is my preferred music style. However, I enjoy a wide variety of styles, ranging from Christian contemporary all the way to hard rock. dcTalk to System of a Down and everything in between. I also like emo, techno, ska, and so on. I'm even developing a taste for classical. Pretty much the only things I don't like are rap, country, and pop.

I tend to take a very live-and-let-live attitude towards the people I interact with. If you don't actively show me disrespect, we're cool. I'm quite laid back most of the time. I used to be a very angry person below the surface, but God has taken that rage from me, and I thank Him for that every sunrise.

My interests are many. I enjoy listening to music as much as possible; in fact, a day without music feels hollow. I enjoy art. I enjoy playing games and just generally being on the computer, and have for over 7 years now. I also enjoy roleplaying, which is basically acting out a story, making it up as you go.

I am contemplating a career in Christian ministry, probably youth ministry, or anywhere else God wants me to be. I'm taking classes at community college to flesh out things I'd like to know more about, and I expect to go to a Bible college sometime in the next few years.
