Although the true weapons of the
Sorcerer are his mental capacity and endless directory
of spells, he does rely on combat
tools to defend himself and augment his combative skills.
Unable to yield devastating weapons
with efficiency, he relies on his magical skills to use
various staves and rods, even certain
mythical swords, to exert his aptitude.
Below is a list of weapons the
Sorcerer may find in the guild shop, along
with their use and level of acquisition.
"It is always good for a
magus to find support in his good old staff,
but even better if the staff
can whack some annoying heads"..
Limited in their number, but effective at any level, the various weapons and armour found in the guild shop are a true blessing for the Sorcerer. Almost all of the items rely on the spellcaster's skill in magic.items.staff, and therefore they can be used by high level individuals as well. Their offensive abilities may not be the greatest that can be found, but they are useful experience-gathering tools, that in the hands of a practiced Sorcerer become lethal weapons.
Aerial Staves
Save level: 50-60
The Aerial Staff is a one handed weapon, that can be used with efficiency (especially
if it is enchanted), until a Sorcerer can acquire a more powerful weapon for
his level. Light and swift in delivering damage, they are a good weapon for
all levels. They run off magic.items.staff.
Gauntlets of Electrum
Save level: 60
The Gauntlets are a unique item indeed. They are worn as weapons, not armour,
and can deliver electrical hits to the enemy. Combined with Shocking grasp,
they are quite worth using for experience-gathering, althought their effectiveness
is limited by the fact that they don't run off magic.items.staff, thus their
attacks are prefixed for all levels. An attempt has been made to combine and
augment the Gauntlets' offensive power, by teaming them up with Shocking grasp,
and there have been promises that such an idea is currently being materialized.
Lightning Rod
Save level: 100
The Rod is truly the Sorcerer's right hand in combat. One can point it at a
target several times until the rod dissipates under the strain of the magical
powers it exudes. The result of the pointing is devastating for the opponent,
producing the maximum damage an electrical attack has to offer. A handy tool
in times of combat, it can also be powered up (syntax: powerup) to provide electrical
melee attacks that are equally powerful. The Rod is one handed now, giving it
an extra advantage over the many equally omnipotent two-handed weapons of the
spellcasting community, although a slight delay at its pointing might have an
undesirable effect in the surprise element of an attack. The holder must have
a level of 100 in magic.items.staff to use it.
Stormmail
Save level: 25-30
The Stormmail is the armour of choice for every Sorcerer. Light as a feather,
and uniquely powerful, it offers good protection against all types of attacks,
and fares rather high in the best-armour charts. Enchanted, it is even more
effective armour.
Storm Boots
Save level: 25-30
The best boots in the game. Light, sturdy (they almost never break in combat),
and practical, they are the Sorcerer's pride and joy.

NOTE:
Many weapons and equipment can be found in the Greater Realms, the acquisition
of which is not always easy. Many keep their secret locations to themselves,
in true nature of a spellcaster. Others, more helpful, reveal their magical
properties to the adept. If you're one of the latter, help Conrad enrich his
list of weapons and armour, so that the future generations can gain experience
from your knowledge.
