Fire Threatens Daggerfall

Yesterday an inferno raged its way through the streets of Daggerfall.  The blaze started at the Greening Residence  when two mages knocked a bottle of Liquid Fire, a new invention of the Mages Guild, off a table.  The Liquid Fire quickly melted the lid of its bottle and set the house on fire.  The mages were so stunned by the power of the Fire that they paid no heed to the house burning around them.  The Fire spread to the surrounding houses and was soon beyond the control of the two mages.  After the Fire reduced the entire neighborhood to ashes, mages that arrived from the Mages Guild isolated the Fire and put it in a new enchanted bottle that they claim it cannot melt any part through.  The Mages Guild has no comment on this incident.  The reconstruction of the neighborhood the Fire destroyed is already underway.
King of Daggerfall Starting Harem Guards Wanted in Ykalon
King Gothryd has hired several men to capture nymphs and bring them to him.  He gave them explicit instructions they would only receive their reward of 10 000gp if the nymphs were brought to him alive.  Why is the King doing this?  Many wonder the same thing.  Most members of his court suspect he is starting his own harem. When asked the King does not deny this.  Despite the public belief, he continues collecting nymphs. He says his intentions will become clear in time. All of Daggerfall waits as news of their King's wicked obsession spreads.  I am looking for guards more interested in fighting than in shouting "HALT."  I have already lost hundreds of those and do not wish for this unfortunate trend to continue. I am especially interested in hiring weapon masters and magicians.  One should expect heavy fighting due to the constant attacks of villains who slaughter hundreds of innocent people under the direction of a man called Chicken Head.  Apply to Sara Wolff in the city of Ykalon in the state of Ykalon ASAP if you are interested.
The Day of the Dead  The Holy Order of...Andel Crodo?
This year on the Day of the Dead, the servants of Arkay, god of life and death, gathered in the courtyard of Castle Daggerfall.  They assembled
themselves into a circle and began chanting.  A
woman in white flowing robes was chained to a  stone altar in the center of the circle.  The
chanting continued for the rest of the day.  As the sun began to sink below the horizon an elderly priest stepped forward with an ornate dagger. The priest spoke an incantation before continuing. "I sacrifice thee in the name of life.  Go forth and hold back the army of the dead.  And if you can, hold back death himself.  Lysandus, we defy you. Be gone!"  After the incantation he stepped forward, slit the woman's throat, and sprinkled holy water on her body.  After the gruesome display, the followers of Arkay dispersed.  The priest was leaving as a booming voice screams "VENGEANCE."  The priest was found dead the following morning.
After Andel Crodo saved Daggerfall from the might of a dragon (issues 1-4), the people were very grateful.  Since then he has been regarded as a hero.  But now it seems he is being regarded as a god.  His followers claim he is the god of protection. The believers all say the same thing when asked:  "Who other than a god could have slain the viscous dragon?"  The members of the Holy Order of Andel Crodo even have their own "temple."  The temple is in the home of one of the followers.  There are plans to build a proper temple somewhere in Daggerfall.  A golden statue of Andel Crodo is already being made.  Andel Crodo himself has not been seen since the festival held in his honour.  This is not stopping his followers or even slowing them down. Several devout worshippers are spreading the word in other cities.
