for Windows 95/98

Below are some animated and non-animated screens to replace the standard Windows startup and shutdown screens. All you need to do is download the ZIpped files, unZIP them and move them into the correct folders. Make sure you back up whatever files you are changing.

If you don't have WinZip already,
a must for any computer or internet user,
then get it here.

The picture formats are 320 x 400 (256 colors) bitmaps, although they have the SYS extension.
However, Windows will stretch these logo files to 640 x 400 when displaying them.
All files are 126K when unzipped.

The files:

C:\LOGO.SYS			Displayed at Windows StartUp.
C:\WINDOWS\LOGOW.SYS	Displayed on "Shutting Down"
C:\WINDOWS\LOGOS.SYS	Displayed on PC Shut Down - "Ready to turn off"

To view any of these files drag them into MS Paint.

The animated files for the Windows Start-Up

The animation used by Windows is that of palette cycling. With these images you will see a coloured strip flash below as Windows is loading, or the Shrykull will be zapped!
These replace the LOGO.SYS file in the C:\ directory.

The images to be used for the shutting down or turn off screens

The below images can be used for the shutting down screen (LOGOW.SYS) or the turn off screen (LOGOS.SYS). Decide which logo you want to replace and rename the file accordingly!
(Change the name to LOGOW.SYS for the shutting down screen or leave them as they are for the turn off screen.)
Simply replace the file(s) in the C:\WINDOWS directory.
