Joining the Guild and Becoming a Drow (Because the guild is disbanded no new recruits will be accepted) |

All players who wish to join the guild must begin with a brand new character. No character that is previously developed will be allowed, UNLESS there is sufficient role play background involved. Before creating a new character a player must contact the Master of Initiates or other ranking member via ICQ/e-mail/in game with their intentions. A Drow is then created by choosing black skin, lightest hair possible (which can be of any length or style), and no facial hair. (Facial hair may be chosen, but it is considered something of a genetic defect and/or a sign of extremely poor personal hygiene; this may keep your character at a lower station.) Choose an appropriate name for yourself. (Click here for more information on naming your drow.)
As for the initial allocation of stat and skill points this is really up to the individual; it is suggested that one start with at least 30-45 points allocated to strength as you may find it difficult to play if your strength is too low and you are spending most of your time as a ghost. All Drow must start with at least 40 in hiding. It might be wise to start with some degree of magery; recall is a requirement of becoming a noble. And all Drow possess a measure of spell resistance. Once you have created a character (probably at Empath Abbey, Yew) you should report to a ranking member for a short interrogation of concerning the tenants of membership in QVI. Once completed, if the Master of Initiates feels that you are capable of role playing within the guild you will be added to the guild stone and be given a title of Wanre(apprentice). From that point on you should be in game as much as possible to work on developing your skills and a personality for your character as well as spending time getting to know the other members in the guild. The initiation period serves two purposes 1) it gives you a chance to develop your character (skills and persona) and meet other members of the guild and decide if you want to become a full-fledged member (i.e. noble). For those of you with limited role playing experience this gives you break-in period to "learn the ropes". 2)it gives the Master of Initiates and your mentor a chance to evaluate you as a role player. Bear in mind: you can be removed from the stone for any reason during this time. |

In order to become a Shebali (full member), each character must complete certain tests to assure the leadership of some basic skills, abilities and especially RP attitude. Bear in mind that all members will be watching your performance. This apprenticeship will last at least one week, but may take as long as a month. The following must be completed before a wanre will be promoted.
1) Achieved a reasonable level in your primary skills, being minimally capable of surviving in PvP battles. 2) Participated in at least one RP event with other Drow. 3) Demonstrated the ability to respect your fellow players. 4) Find a Noble willing to sponsor your character before the House leadership. 5) Post a short introduction/story/background for your character on the public boards. If you do not already have an account, go here to set one up: UOTC forums. QVI is listed under the Catskills shard. Note: While it is not required that you speak the drow language fluently, you will be expected to know common greetings, titles, and some expressions. |
