I am currently the President of the NFA WARGAMES GROUP (who until recently were the 8/12 Wargamer's Club). The Club was formed in 1989, at Holsworthy Barracks by soldiers from the garrison area, and mainly 8/12 Medium Regiment, RAA. The Club's main activities revolve around miniature wargames, and military history. The Club members play wargames mainly using the DBA, DBR and "...Here There Be Dragons" miniature rules systems. Other rule systems are also used, such as "ELAN!" (see review at our "On Parade!" page), "La Battalion '98" (a set of home grown Napoleonic rules developed by founding club member, Dallas Gavan), "Volley and Bayonet", "Johnny Reb", WAB (Warhammer Ancient Battles), PIQUET, and "Full Thrust".The club members are also keen computer simers, playing alot of IL2 Forgotten Battles, European Air War, and Janes Fighters Anthology, to name but a few. Of recent interest has been the OUTSTANDING "COMBAT MISSION: Beyond Overlord", "COMBAT MISSION: Barbarossa to Berlin" and "COMBAT MISSION: Afrika Korps" WW2 combat Sim. Anothe recent development is the "TOTAL WAR" series of game, (Rome TW, Medieval II TW, and soon to be released "EMPIRES" TW!

I'm still working hard on this Homepage, (as you can see there is still much to be done), but I intend to use this forum to inform any interested parties of upcoming Club activities, post game/battle reports, publish product reviews, & list Links to my favorite web sites; there are over 70 now, though some DO need updating! Please feel free to email me with your comments.

WHY "TRAILAPE"??
It's a slang term used in the Australian Army for an Artilleryman, similar to the term "Grunt" to discribe an Infanty type!
