I started out as a young drummer on the New Orleans funk/jazz scenes
of the mid-70's & later toured with some fo the most talented top-40
bands out of the southern region. In the late 70's, I made my debut
as a music arranger at the world-renowned New Orleans Jazz/Funk &
Heritage Festival. I was fortunate to have my arrangements performed
by Southern University's Stick Rhythm Band.
During the 80's, my touring experiencesled to opening act opportunities for major recording artists such as; The Funky Meters, The Neville Bros. & Rufus featuring Chaka Khan. Since the late 80's, I became more interested in being behind the scenes. at that time I was more involved in contemporary music & produced my first dance/funk single single called 'Jamblaster Rock'. Throughout the 90's & currently as a composer/producer, I've worked with a couple of selected vocalists from the New Orleans & Houston areas. The collaborations allowed me to present my music in a professional matter & gave me the opportunity to produce 'Greg's Groove Joint'vol.I. It's my long-awaited CD Ep featuring a collection of urban contemporary tracks showcasing my versatility as a compser/producer/songwriter. Kicking off the 'Greg's Groove Joint' Ep are the singles 'I AM THE ONE', a funky r&b track & 'PARTY', an uptempo dance/hiphop track. Upcoming project includes 'Greg's Groove Joint' vol.II, featuring acidjazz & triphop flavors. |
