Dreydan's Review

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is Square-Enix's sequal to the playstation hit game Final Fantasy VII. Instead of a game itself, it's a full-fledged CG movie set two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII. It answers a lot of the questions that people have been wondering about for years, and also leaves you with a few more.

For a movie about an hour and a half long, it's easy to forget that you're watching a CG movie at times. The animation is outstanding and It opens with a prologue explaining the events prior to the movie, though I think it's still easier for veterans of FF7 to grasp them. The fast paced action rivals anything seen in the matrix movies. I think it's an excellent follow-up to FF7 and something to bridge the gap between it and Dirge of Cerberus.

Some of the newer characters in the film are presented without any real background, but I'm sure some FF7 fans can guess where they came from. I really don't have any complaints besides wishing it was a longer movie. For those who have not played FF7, it'll only be the coolest CG movie you've ever seen. For those who have played FF7, it'll still be the coolest CG movie you've ever seen, but at least you'll know whats going on. ~Dreydan
