Eventually this page will contain updates to our campaign. But for now, here are some answers to questions about the campaign. Swords & Glory Frequently Asked Questions What roleplaying rules will we use? D&D, 3rd Edition. It rocks. What kind of character can I play? Everyone will start out as 1st level characters. You can play any core race and core class from the D&D 3rd Edition Player's handbook. As the campaign progresses, material from other D&D/d20 supplements will be allowed. Do I need to be an experienced roleplayer? Nope, although it helps. What do you mean by wanting "mature" players? Currently, the gamers that will be playing in this campaign are between the ages of 24 and 34. Players younger than 18 might not feel comfortable roleplaying with some of us "old farts". When will the games be? Thursday nights at Battlegrounds, 1305 Wabash Ave. here in Springfield. Here's a map. We would like to get started around 6:45. What do I need to bring? Your brain. At the beginning sessions, we'll supply pencils, dice, character sheets, etc. If you have one, bring your 3rd Edition D&D Player's Handbook. If not, you will probably want to eventually buy one from Battlegrounds. And some dice. Every roleplayer we've met is superstitious about their dice... What setting will the game take place in? The campaign is not set in any specific fantasy universe - yet. Once the group is formed, the players and DM will work together to decide upon a setting, or make one of our own. What do you mean by an "action-oriented" campaign? There are may ways to roleplay, just like there are many different genres of movies. We've found that we have more fun roleplaying when our game is more like an action movie and less like a drama film. Will the adventures be pre-made modules, or DM-written ones? A mixture of both. In the beginning, we will probably run through some pre-made modules, just to get familiar with the system. Why "Swords & Glory"? It sounded better than "Thursday Night D&D Roleplaying at Battlegrounds".
