----------------------------------------------------------
This isn't complete and I've got a lot more that I don't want to release quite yet. I need some help getting names for characters, and some other details, but that can be discussed in the forum. Enjoy!
-----------------------------------------------
[Cut scene] Outside:
It's a dark and stormy night, the lightning flashes wildly over the sea, and the thunder shouts into the night. The tremendous waves pound upon the fortress cliffs of a small uncharted island. The cliffs loom treacherously above the sea.
Close-up:
As the lightning flashes we are able to see a small battered rubber boat that has be destroyed by the sea and the cliffs. On a small ledge we see none other than Solid Snake, the hero. A label fades into view, stating the name of the island and "location unknown". Snake initializes communications by Codec, only small bits of muffled words can be heard through the static.
Snake: "This is Snake, I'm in position, can you read me?"
Unknown: "Ye{static hiss} Snake{static} what's your {static}-us?"
Snake: "I'm on the island."
Unknown: "Goo{static}. Now you{long static}-"
Communications lost.
Snake: "Damn!"
[Game play] Snake, being a little annoyed, begins to scale the cliff. {this task will test balance and speed as snake must fight the blowing wind and race the grip meter}.
[Cutscene] Snake looks around and walks into the thick jungle and nearly falls into a pitfall. He then equips the thermal goggles so that he has a better chance to see the pitfalls.
[Gameplay] Snake is now free to roam around in the jungle and explore, seemingly unsure of his objective. However, besides the pitfalls, Snake must also watch out for gun turrets that pop up from the ground and out of fake trees. As Snake wanders, he eventually finds a clearing where the jungle seems to have been trampled. At this point the player should be inclined to follow the trampled path.
[Cutscene] After following the path for a short while Snake comes across the remains of Metal Gear Ray, which is surrounded by a dozen or so dead bodies. Snake inspects the wreckage only to find Ocelot dead in the twisted cockpit, and his right arm missing.
[Gameplay] Snake wanders around for about 30-45 seconds when he recieves a call.
[Codec] unknown: "Snake, do you rea-{static}"
Snake: "Yeah, but there's still a lot of interference from the storm."
unknown: "That's fine. Have you found the compound yet?"
Snake: "No, but I did find Metal Gear Ray, it's been destroyed."
unknown: "I guess something really is happening on that island."
{the static clears and -----'s face appears}
Snake: "This is where the tracking device led. There's one more thing."
-----: "What's that?"
Snake: "I found Ocelot dead in Ray's cockpit, but his, or should I say Liquid's right arm was missing."
-----: "Interesting. Hm, I bet this willll come back to haunt us soon enough."
Snake: "Right."
[Gameplay] Snake now wanders, not aimlessly about, but is searching for some sort of facility. Still dealing with the pitfalls and gun turrets.
[Cut scene] Shows a guard patrolling the perimeter of the island as he stumbles upon the branches that snake broke when entering the jungle. The guard calls for help then an attack squad comes they track you through the jungle.
[Codec]
-----: "Snake I be careful going througggh the jungle, move more slowly, because the guards might be able to track you by following any branches that you break."
Snake: "Now you tell me."
[Game play] Snake should move more slowly through the jungle. {Guards approach, you hear them say that they lost the trail(if snake has been moving slowly)}Snake continues until he finds the wall of the compound.
[Codec]
Snake: "I've found the compound."
-----: "Good, do you see an opening?"
Snake: "Not yet."
-----: "Be careful, the perimeter of thhhe compound is probably more heavily guarded."
[Game play] Look for a way in, and avoid the guards. Upon finding an entrance Snake is inside the thick wall of the compound, it is dirty and disgusting. {Walking in it makes Snake smell bad for a while, his stench can give him away when he's around enemy guards. Rain will wash away the smell} Snake eventually finds a ladder leading out of the wall.
[Cut scene] Snake looks over the top of the latter just as a guard walks by. Snake is out on top of the outer perimeter wall, he looks into the compound to see hundreds of troops doing drills and/or standing in formation, like Marine boot camp.
[Codec]
Snake: "There's hundreds of men training for combat."
-----: "Weird, why would the Patriots hhhave a terrorist training camp?"
Snake: "These aren't simple terrorists. It looks like the Patriots are training their own well-disciplined military."
-----: "What do the Patriots have to gaaain from their own small army, when they control the governments of the world?"
Snake: "Good question."
[Game play] Snake is out on top of the outer perimeter wall. The rain still beats down, but the lightning and thunder are less severe. Snake needs to find some cover and get in touch with Otacon, and -----.
[Codec]
Snake: "Otacon, do you read me?"
Otacon: "Yeah, what do you need?"
Snake: "Have you been able to find any information on this island at all?"
Otacon: "No, it's strange, I can't even find you with any of the satellite arrays, it's like the whole area has been masked from all data throughput."
Snake: "I guess that explains some of the strange stories about the Bermuda triangle."
Otacon: "Yeah."
Snake: "Now we need to figure out where the Patriots would be holding Olga's baby."
Otacon: "I can almost guarantee that it's deep inside the core of the compound."
Snake: "That's real encouraging."
-----: "Can you describe the layout of the compound at all?"
Snake: "Yeah....
[Cut scene] The camera flies around the compound as Snake describes the layout.
Snake: "The compound is a square about 1000 meters long, there are a few guard posts around the wall and search lights scanning inside and out of the compound. There are several buildings, one is 3 stories tall, so I'm betting it's a control center of some sort. There is a courtyard on the far side, with a small army inside it, and there are a few dozen guards patrolling various parts of the compound. Also, they have a bunch of UAV on patrol too."
-----: "Hm..., let me check some files and see if I can find anything similar"
Snake: "Alright"
[Codec]
-----: "In the mean time, try searchinggg the guard posts, the security detail should have something on the layout of the compound."
Snake: "Right"
Otacon: "Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you Snake."
Snake: "Not really."
Otacon: "What?"
Snake: "You seem to be forgetting that I'm just trying to find Olga's child and take it safety. The only hard part is finding it, other than that, I just need to stay in the shadows."
Mei Ling: "Hey Snake! You'd better save just to be safe."
Snake: "Alright."
Save
Don't Save
Mei Ling: some proverb about pride.
[Game play] Snake searches the guard posts and finds a SOCOM and technical info on the compound {Snake's radar now comes online}.
[Codec]
Snake: "Okay, according to the info I found, the two buildings near the east wall are an armory and a weapons development lab. And...
[Cut scene] Camera follows Snake's description.
Snake: "The three buildings on the south wall are a Laboratory, a Control Center, and the Security office. In the northwest corner is another Lab and to the east of that is a Barracks and an Underground Barracks and an Underground detention facility."
[Codec]
-----: "hm... pretty intense."
Snake: "yeah."
-----: "Kinda reminds me of Outer Heaveeen."
{background music gets louder and very dark}
Snake: "Yeah, a little too much like Outer Heaven."
-----: "If I were going to hold a childdd in a place like that, it would be in the Underground Barracks, or the Control Center."
Snake: "Right"
[Game play] Snake sneaks his way down to the barracks to continue his search for the Olga's child, but when he walks in he finds 3 soldiers sitting around inside. The soldiers choose to fight Snake instead of call for help. {The first "boss" battle}.
[Cut scene] After the battle Snake grabs the last standing Soldier by the throat.
Snake: "Where the kid?"
Soldier: "What kid?"
Snake puts the SOCOM to the soldiers head.
Snake: "I won't ask you again."
Soldier: "I don't know, he gets moved around a lot, from the underground levels to the Labs and Control Center. He could be anywhere."
Snake holds the Soldier at gunpoint and steals his security card.
[Game play] Snake now can either kill the guard or knock him out.{If guard is allowed to live, then he alerts everyone else and the guards and troops increase their caution on the main level of the compound.}{If killed Snake must hide the bodies quickly or else the bodies will be discovered, and all personnel will be more cautious on the main level of the compound.} Snake continues his search. In the Underground Barracks there is a small sterile room with all sorts of medical monitoring equipment, and a crib.
[Cut scene] Snake looks around and finds some charts about the baby, eating schedule, health record, etc. Snake also finds a movement sheet, which tells where the baby has been moved to and when. Currently the baby is reported to be in Lab A.
[Game play] Snake sneaks his way to Lab A.
[Cut scene] As Snake accesses the lab he triggers a security device. Snake runs over and smashes the sensor.
[Game play] Snake continues to search Lab A, finding rations, equipment, and weapons. Eventually, Snake discovers the door to the central experiment room in Lab A.
[Cut scene] As Snake opens the door, he steps in face to face to a large robot, which serves as the security detail of the Experiment room. The robot grabs Snake by the throat and lifts him off of the ground. As he is suspended in the air a strange voice cuts through the air. It is shrill, yet very menacing, it's the voice of Dr. Winston.
Dr. W: "Who are you? Hm... you seem familiar, where have I seen you before?'
Snake: "-----"
Dr. W: "Don't feel the need to answer, eh? Well, I can make you talk..."
Snake now reaches up and rips the circuitry out of the robot's wrist, and it's grip is released. Snake then pulls the gun and is prepared for battle.
[Game play] Snake has his gun drawn and begins to shoot the robot to no avail. The robot moves very swiftly, and uses a tazer to try and stop Snake.
{During the battle Dr. Winston taunts Snake.}
Dr. W: "Hahaha, you seem to notice the armor plating on the sentry robot, well, it must be no surprise that your bullets will only bounce off."
{Upon the use of a chaff grenade}
Dr. W: "You think that I would be so stupid as to overlook the possibility of electronic jamming! I'm too smart for that, he's shielded."
{after about 45 seconds to a minute}
[Cut scene] Snake, in an act of desperation, manages to knock over a heavy piece of laboratory equipment on the robot, then he stoops behind a table.
[Codec]
Snake: "Otacon!"
Otacon: "What is it Snake?"
Snake: "There's a sentry robot trying to kill me, but shooting it isn't helping me."
Otacon: "Why not what's going on?"
Snake: "Armor plating, it's also protect from electronic jamming."
Otacon: "Are there any gaps in the armor, any unprotected areas that could be useful? Try aiming for those spots."
Snake: "Right, thanks Hal."
[Game play] Snake looks for vulnerabilities, and finds some at the head and knees. If Snake shoots the robot in the head the robot will be blinded and start behaving erratically. However, if Snake shoots the knees the robot becomes immobile, but it can still shoot. Once the robot is both blind and immobile, the battle is over.
[Cut scene]
Dr. W: "Who do you think you are!?"
Snake: "What's it matter?"
Dr. W: "Please tell me, I must know!"
Snake: "I have no name."
{Snake walks closer with his gun trained on the doctor}
Snake: "Where's the kid?"
Dr. W: "Which one?"
Snake: "The one that was stolen from Olga Gurlukovich."
Dr. W: "What?"
Snake: "You know, the one that the Patriots have been holding hostage since the incident with Arsenal Gear."
Dr. W: "Look I don't know anything about that."
Snake: "Sure you don't."
Dr. W: "I'm a geneticist not a kidnapper. The only children that I know of come from test tubes."
Snake: "As a geneticist, you ought to recognize the difference between a naturally born child and one of your test tube creations."
Dr. W: "Well, there is one that was a little different than the rest, but I know very little about where it is, the guards just bring him 3 times a week for routine checkups and tests for genetic defects, just like the other babies."
Snake: "You'd better tell me everything you know."
Dr. W: "All I know is that he was taken away just a few minutes before you got here."
Snake: "Thanks, but what's a geneticist doing out here anyway? And why are you helping me?"
Dr. W: "I can't tell you what I'm doing out here, but I'm helping you because, because...
Snake: "because why?" {the doctor begins to fill a syringe with fluid}
Dr. W: "Because I've been doing unspeakable things to these children. I know that they're just clones, and we can always make another one, but they're innocent children. I don't know how my conscience let me do it, but it's too late now, at least I don't have to-"
Snake: "What sort of "unspeakable" things did you do?"
Dr. W: "Huh? Oh.... I had to kill so many... Examined... Recording everything about them. Looking for specific... But no more!" {Dr. Winston then stabs himself in the heart with the needle and dies instantly.}
Snake: "What the? What was he researching?" {Snake searches the doctor's pockets}
[Game play] Snake now tries to figure out where Olga's child was moved to. Snake looks the movement sheet and tries to figure out where the baby is being taken to. He then goes to where the child should be(The Courtyard).
[Cut scene] As Snake approaches the gate of the Courtyard, the soldiers begin to exit. Snake quickly hides behind something, so that no one will see him. As Snake looks around to see the soldiers, but only catches a glimpse of the last one. It looks a little bit like himself.
[Game play] Snake walks into the court yard, along the outside there are several smaller buildings with only one or two rooms in each. Near the Northwest corner there is an obstacle course. Snake explores. On the door of the building on the far west wall, the door reads Conditioning Room. Snake enters. While searching the room, Snake finds an examination table with blood on it. Next to the table there is a chart. The name on the chart is Gurlukovich, Snake starts to think the worst. After reading through the chart Snake realizes that they moved the Gurlukovich baby to the First Aid Room on level B1 of the Control Center. Snake calls ----- to voice his frustrations.
[Codec]
Snake: "That kid of yours is starting to annoy me. Every time I think that I'm getting close to him, they move him. But, they seem to be keeping him in good health, they send him to the doctor 3 times a week for routine check ups."
-----: "Heh, so you think he's ok then???"
Snake: "Let's hope so."
-----: "Good."
Snake: "Crap! Someone's coming!"
[Cut scene] Snake hides in a medical locker, and watches as a older looking doctor enters.
[Game play] Snake needs to jump out and steal the security card from the doctor. .{if Snake waits until the doctor is about to leave, then ----- will call and ask what's happening, and suggest that the doctor might have some useful items for gaining access to the First Aid Room in the Control Center.} Snake steals the security card.
[Cut scene] Snake asks the doctor what he's doing on the compound, the scared scientist is too paralyzed to answer. Snake insists upon an answer.
Dr. : "I make things, and fix things."
Snake: "Like what?"
{the doctor gets an evil look in his eye and the tone of his voice changes.}
Dr. : "I bet if you thought hard enough you'd be able to figure it out."
Snake: "What's that supposed to mean?"
Dr. : "It means a lot of things."
The Doctor leaps towards the alarm button, but Snake shoots him before he can reach the button.
[Game play] First, Snake must hide the body, then Snake needs to sneak out of the Conditioning room, out of the courtyard, and into the Control Center. Snake explores the Control Center and eventually finds the First Aid room. There he finds two guards standing at the door. Snake then throws an empty clip in order to distract one guard, but the other stays behind. Snake creeps up behind the guard that remained by the door, and breaks his neck. He then grabs the other guard and ends his life as well. Then, Snake hides their bodies and enters the First Aid room.
[Cut scene] Snake looks and Olga's baby is on the examination table. He notices a man in a wheelchair, wearing a germ suit next to the baby, it's the examining doctor. The doctor looks up and sees Snake. Snake pulls his gun and begins the interrogation...
Snake: "What have you been doing to this child?"
Dr. T: "Why do you care? Why are you pointing that gun at me? What are you doing here anyway"
Snake: "I'm here to take the baby back to it's father."
Dr. T: "Oh. So you're not one of them now are you?"
Snake: "What makes you think that?"
Dr. T: "That doesn't matter now!"
At that comment, six large metal tentacles tear out of the germ suit.
Dr. T: "Hahahaha!"
Snake: "What the!?"
[Game play] Kill Dr. T.
[Cut scene] The Doctor has been beaten and Snake is now in his face looking for answers.
Dr. T: "Ug! Ugargh!"
Snake: "What makes you think that I'm one of the Patriots?"
Dr. T: "Not the Patriots! You look just like- {cough}"
Snake: "What!? Are you saying that I have another brother? Was there another child born in the Les Enfants Terribles project?"
Dr. T: "You know about the project! But how? {cough} If you're not one of them..."
Snake: "Is there another survivor of the project?"
Dr. T: "Yes. The Les Enfants {cough} Terribles project gave birth to {cough, gasp, then die}"
Snake: "To what? Doc!... Damn!"
[Codec]
Snake: "Otacon, there was another child from the Les Enfants Terribles project."
Otacon: "What!?"
Snake: "I have another brother!"
Otacon: "Oh... wow."
Snake: "I'll have to deal with that later though, I found the baby."
Otacon: "That's great!"
-----: "You did! That wonderful! Thank you Snake, I'm forever in your debt."
Snake: "Don't thank me yet, I still gotta get him out of here alive."
-----: "Right. Good luck! Thank you!"
[Game play] Snake needs to find a way out, a way to get off the island. Snake will find some vials of different liquids and some syringes(among other things) when he searches the First Aid room. {one of the vials is a powerful tranquilizer, another has a poison, and the last is unknown} Snake takes the baby and starts to exit the compound. {During Snake's time with the baby, the baby will become upset, shown by a bar below his life, and then when the bar is full, the baby will cry. In order to calm the baby, Snake must stop and crouch until the baby calms down, pushing a certain button will calm the baby faster, and even fill the bar with a different color(indicating that the baby is happy). Or, Snake can use the tranquilizer on the baby, but too much tranquilizer will kill the baby.} While holding the baby if Snake needs to shoot he can either crouch to fire, or he can put the baby down in a safe place. When he is holding the baby, Snake's are is not as stable and his aim is less accurate. In order to exit the compound and enter the jungle, Snake must sneak to the rear corner outside of the Security Center. There he will find a soft patch of grass, he can lay the baby there with a toy(found in the First Aid room) and the baby will stay happy and fall asleep. Now, Snake must go through his escape path and eliminate any threats for the baby. One guard will have a backpack on and when Snake kills this guard, he will keep the backpack. Now, Snake must retrieve Olga's baby, he can put the child in the backpack(if the child is tranquilized) by equipping the backpack and picking up the child. All Snake has to do now is climb the ladder and then get out of the compound by the same route that he came in at. Then he must enter the jungle and run away...
[Cut scene] An alarm sounds and Soldiers begin to swarm the compound, inside and out, surrounding it. All of them are looking for Snake. "Find the intruder! Return the child alive!"
[Game play] Snake runs farther away from the compound. {again if Snake is careful and moves slow he won't leave any traces for the guards to follow.} The alert continues indefinitely.
[Codec]
Snake: "I'm out of the compound, the child is safe."
-----: "Good! That's great!"
Snake: "Otacon, have you found anything about the island?"
Otacon: "No Snake, but I bet that they didn't bring the entire compound in by air. Check for a beach or dock, there might be a boat or something for you escape on."
Snake: "Right. Thanks Hal."
[Game play] Snake sneaks around outside the compound, looking for a way to a beach. There is a small unmaintained road leading away from the compound. This road leads to the dock but it is heavily booby-trapped. If Snake follows it Otacon will call:
[Codec]
Otacon: "Have you found anything yet?"
Snake:"Yeah, there's an old road here, doesn't look like it's been used much."
Otacon: "Sounds bad, maybe it's booby-trapped, at the very least it's too open and leaves you vulnerable. Snake, stay off the path."
Snake: "Right."
[Game play] Snake stays off the path, but goes in the direction that it leads. In the jungle there are still some gun turrets and pitfalls, but they are few and far between. Also, there are some bright red flowers that Snake can collect. Call Otacon to ask about them.
[Codec]
Snake: "What are these strange looking flowers?"{Snake holds a flower in front of the Codec screen.}
Otacon: "Looks like {insert some Latin name for a particular flower}, or maybe {insert another Latin flower name}."
Snake: "Are they useful?"
Otacon: "Hm... let's see. Yes! That flower actually has very powerful healing properties, or um.. nevermind."
Snake: "What? Nevermind what?"
Otacon: "Nothing, it's just that... well... it will either heal you, or it will kill you instantly."
Snake: "What!?"
Otacon: "See, I knew I shouldn't have said anything!"
Snake: "So that I would die?"
Otacon: "No. I'm pretty sure that it's the flower that will heal you, but there's a small chance that I'm wrong."
Snake: "Well, which one is it?"
Otacon: "There's only one way to find out. You'd better hurry and find a boat though."
[Game play] Snake continues to wander, and eventually finds the beach and a port for the islands shipping needs. Unfortunately, this area is heavily guarded also. Snake sneaks around finding useful items laying inside storage sheds and boats. Snake also finds a small fast boat, but no keys. Snake must pay attention to where the boat is docked. Snake searches for the keys.
[Cut scene] Snake leaves Olga's baby in a safe hidden spot. He looks around and finds an Administration Office, inside there is a Soldier talking on the phone.
Soldier: "Yes sir, no boats will leave the port until the intruder is found."
{pause}
Soldier: "No sir, I have all the keys in this office."
{pause}
Soldier: "Yes sir, I am watching them constantly."
{pause}
Soldier: "Yes sir, understood. Goodbye."
[Game play] Snake is left to try to steal the keys. He can try to shoot the Soldier, but the soldier will see him first. However, after about 45 seconds the phone rings again.
[Cut scene] The phone conversation
Soldier: "Hello"
Soldier: "Oh, hi Johnny. How are you?"
Soldier: "That's good.
{the phone conversation continues}
[Game play] The conversation keeps going for 5-8 minutes, during this time the soldier sits down at his desk as starts to write on a paper. Now is Snake's chance to steal the keys. He goes up to the peg board to select the right set, this is why he should've paid attention to the dock number. Now Snake must get the baby and return to the small boat without being seen.
[Cut scene] Snake starts the boat and quickly drives off. An alarm sounds and some larger gun ships begin to chase him.
[Game play] Snake must drive the boat and dodge the torpedoes and bombs that the boats are trying to kill him with.
[Cut scene] After a set period of time the gun ships will close in on Snake's little boat and the situation starts looking bleak. Snake looks forward and sees a coral reef off to the left. He steers the small boat towards, and goes right over it, but the larger gun ships crash into it and tear their hulls out, sinking them. Snake drives off.
[Codec]
Snake: "We're in the clear."
-----: "That's great!"
Snake: "I'm transmitting the coordinates for the rendezvous point."
------: "Got 'em. We'll be there soon."""
Snake: "Good. Otacon, I'm going to need a few things when we meet."
Otacon: "What's that? Wait, you're not thinking of going back are you?"
Snake: "I've got no choice, there are too many unanswered questions. Also, if I do have another brother, chances are he's going to try and dispense mass destruction on the world."
Otacon: "You're crazy!"
Snake: "Crazy!? If they're developing another Metal Gear, and I let them carry out their plan... Then I would be worse than crazy. I'd be guilty of letting the world fall into the hands of terrorism."
Otacon: "I see your point. Tell me what you need...."

Storm
A rumble in the distance, A tremendous crack overhead. Against such noise, no assistance. Thunder crashes, I lay in bed. Powerful bolts thwart my existence, One brief touch finds you dead. No longer present, now past tense, Each bolt becomes as I lay in bed.
Peals of thunder, not down under, But rather in the skies above. Many nights I do wonder, Where these noises try to shove. The deafening sends glass asunder, Like a shattered heard, long lost love. But by the rain, lessens thunder, A few last explosions from above. -Spencer Meyer |

Sahara
The harsh cruelty of desert sand, My sand-blasted body, sun scorched hands. Miles of treachery, unscathed by man. Horizons wasted on a barren land. Beauty and death walk hand in hand. Water loved more than diamonds or gold, Tales of the Djinn and burried treasure, Stories passed on, centuries old. Grains of sand with infinite measure, Sand forced into the depths of one's soul. A few drops to drink, only a dream, Requiring an entire ocean to make whole. -Spencer Meyer

Eyes More green than my can of Mountain Dew, Thos enchanting eyes belong to you. How ever strange you may think, To compare such eyes to a drink. It does not change how I feel, I know these feelings must be real. Time with you is never enough, And to be away is certainly tough. To peer into a universe of greyish green, A universe which only in your eyes is seen. Countless nights lost in your eyes, Color unparalleled by stains or dyes. They seem as warm as fire, To gaze into them is my desire. They are refreshing like the rain, But to hide those eyes causes my pain. Thinking of you makes me happy, Even though my poems are sappy. I suppose I'm done writing, Time to go back into hiding. -yet another one from Spencer Meyer

Ooh a love poem, I write the mushy stuff too. This is for a girl I like. |
yup another mushy one. |
Another Untitled I ache for that certain love which may compensate, For the pain and stress, turmoil and agony of life. The certain love, tangible, a powered embrace, That love becomes evident in your stone green eyes. Thinking of you is peace, the reality of absence lacerates. No word soaked breath can describe your splender, But your angelic voice makes hardened warriors tender. To understand your heart is my soul's delight, Dwelling on you brings my sleepless nights. Hopeless bewilderment, and my bright eyed wonder, Delays cause confusion, my ever chronic blunder. I must wait, but would rather rush, Yet I wiat for simple calming, your gentle hush. -Spencer Meyer |
