Walt's 3 Hour Headstart (v1.2)
Basic Philosophy
MM6 is a great game, but with a little too much "hack & slash" for my tastes. Since I've already killed all the goblins as a low-level character there's no need to do it all over again when I play the game once more. This walkthrough will get you past all that, and without having to "rush" through dungeons and constantly restore saved games because of the difficulty of completing a quest without violent means. Everything in here is NOT CHEATING, it's EASY to do, and requires ZERO fighting (well, not until the very end at least). And you end up as a level 26 party, with Masters of Water and Merchant, lots of extra skill points to play with, plenty of gold, and the best equipment in the game.
MAJOR SPOILER ALERT

Character Creation
Classes
- My preferred party: D/D/D/S for an awesome spellcasting party, or possibly P/D/A/S if you really like armor and weapons. Clerics are the worst class, as they can never hold more than one weapon at a time.
- Desire at least 2 (preferably 4) capable of Elemental (D/S/A).
- Desire at least 2 (preferably 3) capable of Self (D/C/P).
- Desire 1 capable of Light/Dark (C/S).
Skills
- Get Air, Water & Body.
- Armor skills - everyone should have 1 body armor.
- Use extra starting skills for spells.
Gender
- All characters should be the same gender (i.e. - 4 male or 4 female characters). Some monsters will attack based on gender and it's better to have them spread their attacks evenly across your party.
Stats
- All stats should be ODD NUMBERS (that's where all the benefits are).
- Luck, Might & Accuracy - down (these stats are not needed or will be boosted in the early game).
- Intellect - up to 25 for D/S/A, otherwise down.
- Personality - up to 25 for D/C/P, otherwise down.
- Spend extra points on Speed.
General Guidelines
If you've got it, always cast Wizard Eye continuously.
Always SAVE GAME before opening chests, training levels, or drinking from a well or fountain that you don't know the effect of.
If you can't find an NPC or spellbook, keep looking in the next town, or a couple of days later in the same town. Alternatively, you can simply save the game and re-load, but I consider this cheating.
Drink from all barrels in towns (usually by the docks).
Resting in Inns is safe and doesn't use food.
