ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The stories in the Archives are taken from various sources, including the following newspapers:

The Straits Echo / The National Echo
The Star
The New Straits Times

The quality of some photographs in the newspapers were unfortunately bad, especially those reproduced from the defunct The Straits Echo. Although attempts have been made to improve on the picture quality, the results have not been very encouraging. Nevertheless, they are still of great historical value.

The Penang Chess Association appreciates the invaluable contributions from the extensive collection of Mr Quah Seng Sun to these Archives. The contribution of Mr Goh Yoon Wah is also acknowledged.
