Premise
The Black Tower receives a report that a group of former Asha'man and Dragonsworn are causing trouble near Tear, clashing with the soldiers there and spreading panic into the countryside. A Storm Team is assembled to find this renegade group, discover what they are trying to achieve, and stop them at all costs. The interesting part about this RP is that the group will be made up of former members of the Black Tower and not just NPCs. I'm going to try and get former members of the Tower to play their old characters (only those characters that "left" the Tower and were not killed off will be allowed). And if some of the former members are unable to RP with their old characters themselves, then I will try to get their permission to use their characters as NPCs. This will give us our Storm Team something to think about before attacking, because some of the members of this renegade group could be people that used to be our friends in the Tower.
I. The Meeting
A. The newly appointed T'sorvan'm'hael Rengar is given his first assignment by Taim: to go to Tear to stop a group of renegade Asha'man. Taim says that they don't know the exact names of any of the members of this group, but that several of them have been linked as having been former members of the Tower. Rengar is uneasy about this first assignment; after all, he might wind up fighting those who he once called friends in the Tower.
B. Rengar relays this news to the members of his Storm Team, who are equally as surprised a distressed about this new mission as he was when he first got it. During the time between this announcement and the mission many of the Asha'men and Dragonsworn begin to remember about those they knew that left the Tower, and wonder if they are part of this group that has been wreaking havoc in Tear.
II. Moving Out
A. The Storm Team moves out, and they soon reach the city of Tear by gateway. A small group is sent out into the city to try and discover more about the people that the Storm Team has been sent to find. The rest of the Storm Team sets up their camp outside of the city, waiting for the others to finish searching for information.
B. When the group returns with news of where the renegades will most likely strike next the Storm Team moves to intercept them, hoping to catch them before any fighting begins. Fortunately they do meet up with the renegades before they have reached their next target, and after a lot of initial hostility the leader of the renegades agrees to explain his actions, since Rengar and his Storm Team have no desire to start a conflict with him and his.
III. Revisiting Old Friends
A. After the two men agree to talk the two camps agree to merge into one, allowing the members of the current Black Tower to interact with former members. There isn't a whole lot of structure to this part of the RP; I'm interested to what everyone will come up with.
B. The leader of the renegade team of former Black Tower members explains to Rengar why he has been fighting in Tear: apparently the High Lords of Tear are trying to raise funds to build up a defense that will keep the Dragon out of the Stone of Tear and, therefore, keep him from being the ruler of Tear. In order to raise these funds the High Lords have greatly increased the taxes on the common people, and because they fear retaliation from the Dragon if he hears of this news they are attempting to remove his instruments by using a strange kind of ter'angreal that acts as a weakening agent (it's kind of like Kryptonite). The Tairens use these ter'angreal to weaken Asha'men and Dragonsworn to the point where they can either be killed or captured for questioning. Several members of the renegade group have had unfortunate experiences with this ter'angreal, and some have been captured or killed by the Tairens. The renegade group is attempting both destroy this ter'angreal through raiding places where they think it might be stored and by trying to capture those who know about it, so that they might find a way to inoculate themselves from it's effects. Rengar is wary about this explanation, but tells the leader that he will discuss it with his Storm Team, and that he will speak to him again in the morning.
V. Betrayal?
A. The Storm Team from the Black Tower awakens in the night to the sounds of battle. Startled, they find that they are being attacked by men and women dressed exactly like those from the renegade Storm Team! When morning comes the members of the Tower find that the members of the renegade Storm Team have left that camp that they had been sharing together. Rengar is outraged by this apparent betrayal, though some of the others believe that the people attacking the camp were not those of the renegade Storm Team. Regardless, Rengar vows to find the renegades and punish them for their betrayal.
B. Rengar's Storm Team eventually finds who they are looking for, and while the renegade's leader tries to explain that he left because of information they received about the Tairen's movements, Rengar's rage blinds him so much that he orders his Storm Team to apprehend the renegades by use of force. A battle ensues, one in which no one finds joy or a feeling of justice being served. Eventually the fighting is called off when a group of Tairens enters the picture. They have brought the weakening ter'angreal with them, and the two Storm Teams that had been fighting before are forced now to join together to stop their common enemy. When the Tairens are defeated a few of them are taken as prisoners, and it is hoped that they may provide some answers that would help to clear up the recent events that have occurred.
V. Breaking into the Stone of Tear
A. The interviews with the Tairen prisoners reveal that Tairens soldiers, in fact, were the ones that attacked the camp of the Black Tower. They were dressed as the members of the renegade Storm Team in order to pit the two Teams against each other. The Tairens were hoping that the two would cancel one another out, making their job much easier. Obviously their plan has not worked out exactly as they had planned, and the Tairens also reveal that the main stash of weakening ter'angreal is located within the Stone of Tear, the feeling being that it is safe there while it is not being used. The leaders of the two Storm Teams meet to discuss how to get into the Stone of Tear and destroy the ter'angreal, and they know that somehow they must find a way to at least minimize the effects of the weakening ter'angreal.
B. Ariana, or another skilled Healer has discovered a way to counter the effects of the weakening ter'angreal to a certain degree, but certain members of the now combined Storm Team are wary of allowing a stranger to perform a weave that complex on them. In the end, however, they are all inoculated from the effects of the ter'angreal, and the mission can begin.
C. A small team infiltrates the city of Tear and attempts to find a way into the Stone. I will leave the how of doing this up to you guys, and hope that someone can think of some creative way to break into what is thought to be an impenetrable fortress. Once the Stone is infiltrated, the Storm Team finds a group of Darkfriends and other Shadowspawn waiting for them, and a battle ensues. When the battle is over the ter'angreal is seized, and an agreement is made with the Sea Folk to dump the weakening ter'angreal into the sea, so that it may never be used again. A few members of the renegade Storm Team will make sure that this deed is done, while the others will continue to search for the remaining weakening ter'angreal. They expect that they will meet with less resistance since the weapon of choice for the Tairens has, for the most part, been destroyed, and the leader of the renegade Storm Team thanks Rengar and his people for their help. Before they leave Rengar asks if any of the members of the renegade Storm Team want to return to the Tower and become a part of his Storm Team. Whether or not anyone agrees or not the Black Tower Storm Team returns to the Tower, with both feelings of happiness and feelings bittersweet at having to say goodbye to their friends once again.
VI. Return to the Tower
A. The Storm Team returns to the Black Tower, and Rengar reports to Taim about their findings. Taim commends him and his Team for their work, and agrees that they should have time to rest before their next mission.
B. Drinking and partying ensure shortly thereafter :)
The End
I apologize if this is a bit lengthy, but I hope that a tight structure
will allow other besides the M'Hael or the Guardian to move the story forward,
since they will have a relatively good idea of where the story is going.
I haven't contacted any former members of the Black Tower yet to discuss
this RP; I will do so as soon as possible, and it would be greatly appreciated
if others in the Tower know where some of the former members are and can
contact them. If anyone has any feedback then send it back to me.
Well, I hope this RP turns out well. I wrote this outline in two
hours, but it seems all right to me. I'll write an RP opening this
up as soon as all of the former members have been contacted.
