The U.S. organization is generally made of single vehicles, that from togather a platoon, and some platoons from a larger group and so on, until the division level is reached.
In a normal platoon, there are four vehicles. 3 platoons, with the addition of 2 command vehicles, form a company. 3-4 companies, with additional support platoons and sections (including scouts, atgm tank destroyers, artillery, etc.), form a battalion. 10 battalions form a brigade. 3 brigades, with an additional air support brigade, which includes a variety of air units, and an additional brigade of ground support units, form the largest organization, called division. Usually, most of the ground and air support units are attached to the smaller organizations, because the division doesn't fight as 1 group.
In M1 Tank platoon 2 you command a team, which includes a little bit less than a company - It includes your platoon, and may include attached support vehicles that are received from the battalion level (and the battalion got its support vehicles from the brigade, which got it from the division!).
